Role Overview
This position will provide day-to-day support of the Transformation Office (TO) and company-wide transformation efforts. It requires a variety of skills including a deep understanding of finance, accounting, and effects of market trends in the business; the ability to work in a cross-functional team and contribute to a common goal via a broad range of communication and coaching skills; and the ability to contribute to reporting financial KPIs and findings to senior leadership.
Key responsibilities include leveraging a finance background and collaborating with other functions to identify and implement initiatives that will positively impact financial performance and enhance the efficiency of our company. Must possess the ability to work with multiple departments under pressure and meet short-turn deadlines. Requires excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and the ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Drives the financial rigor of transformation process.
- Sets consistent valuation guidelines, validates timing of business impacts.
- Reviews, challenges, and approves financials of initiatives.
- Reviews business cases presented by initiative owners and understands how the business impact will be achieved.
- Build strong relationships with program office leaders, program sponsors, and business partners.
- Collates weekly status reports submitted by workstream leads and provide insightful, constructive feedback.
- Leads/manages workstream communications, prepare and present updates to senior management.
- Challenges pace, ambition, and performance of the transformation.
- Works with financial departments to ensure transformation progress is properly calculated, measured, and confirmed.
- Works with business unit finance leaders to interpret financial inputs and ensure monthly submission of results.
- Maintains forecast for initiatives and works with owners to update the forecast as business conditions change.
- Validate data to ensure proper accounting of results.
- Controls tracking processes and ensures value is hitting bottom-line.
- Perform other such duties as may be required.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (BA) in Finance, Accounting, or Economics from four-year college or university (MBA preferred); and at least four (4) years related experience and/or training. Experience in power generation or manufacturing would be a plus.
- Experience with forecasting, valuation, cost savings, GAAP accounting and financial reporting.
- Hands on experience with Spreadsheet software, PowerPoint and Word Processing software, flow charts, database software, and Internet software.
- Occasional overnight travel up to 10% by land, train and/or air.
