SUMMARY
Reporting to the CFO Mitsubishi Power Americas, Inc, this position will be responsible to lead the NGS finance team and focus on overseeing commercial and operational functions. The role is responsible for all financial activities, budgeting, reporting, auditing and any other statutory and non-statutory financial requirements for the business unit (BU).
The CFO for the NGS BU is responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the business while providing strategic insight into operational performance and driving financial growth. This role is an integral part of the both the finance organization and NGS leadership, working in collaboration with the Senior Vice President, NGS and all their direct reports, including Engineering, Supply Chain, Project Management, Human Resources, Commercial Operations and Legal . The ideal candidate will demonstrate financial expertise, possess a strong background in commercial operations, risk management and operational strategy.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Financial Strategy and Planning:
- Align the BU strategic plan to the financial performance and report results to business leaders.
- Lead the finance team in managing NGS P&L, B/S & Cash Flow activity; including communications to executive leadership and MHI.
- Lead the development of annual budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial plan.
- Oversee the preparation and presentation of accurate and timely financial statements, ensuring compliance with corporate policies, legal requirements, and accounting standards.
- Monitor and manage working capital, including receivables, payables, and other accounts.
- Commercial and Operational Oversight:
- Facilitate communication with Commercial Operations and Leadership from Request for Quotation (RFQ) to contract signing, including customer credit worthiness, pricing strategies, EPC evaluations, payment curves, cancelation curves and general financial guidance.
- Collaborate with the internal team to enhance financial performance.
- Lead the financial team in project preparation, analysis and reporting on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. Includes evaluating and financial decision making in conjunction with the senior leadership.
- Partner with the operations team to analyze and optimize operational performance and efficiency.
- Participate in the development of operational strategies that support financial goals.
- Risk Management and Controls:
- Establish and maintain an effective internal control environment to safeguard company assets.
- Lead efforts to manage business risks, including financial, operational, and compliance risks.
- Evaluate the financial impact of operational risks and opportunities.
- Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead and mentor the finance and accounting team, ensuring continuous development of skills and expertise.
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, fostering a culture of financial responsibility and operational excellence.
- Act as a business partner to key operational leaders, providing financial insights to support decision-making.

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance from four-year college or university; or at least fifteen (15) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Masters’ degree in business or CPA designation preferred.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Attention to detail and action oriented with limited supervision.
- Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Solid understanding of business operations, supply chain, and project accounting.
