Job Description: 

Crystal Mover Services, Inc. (CMSI) is looking for an EHS Supervisor to join our team. This role based out of our MIAMI location and anticipated to move to VA/GA location.

 

Crystal Mover Services, Inc. (CMSI) is a dedicated and highly specialized Operations and Maintenance (O&M) organization established by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries America Inc. (MHIA) and Sumitomo Corporation (SC)/Sumitomo Corporation of Americas (SCOA) on January 2009. CMSI was established to seamlessly, reliably, and successfully support the O&M needs of the Crystal Mover Automated People Mover (APM) manufactured by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) and installed in the United States of America.

Job Summary

 

The Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) Supervisor will enhance EHS management for the construction and installation of APM Revamp projects. This role involves promoting EHS awareness, monitoring legislative changes, and providing guidance to project management.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Promote and encourage EHS awareness.
  • Monitor changes to legislative requirements, standards, and codes of practice, and review the EHS Plan for construction/installation work as appropriate.
  • Provide EHS advice and guidance to project management.
  • Monitor EHS performance and provide monthly statistical analysis reports.
  • Schedule EHS walkthroughs, inspections, meetings, and audits as per project requirements and working conditions.
  • Conduct EHS Management meetings, EHS Management walkthroughs, Subcontractor EHS Supervisor meetings, and safety mass meetings.
  • Recommend appropriate EHS training based on needs assessment and develop site-specific EHS induction programs.
  • Conduct incident investigations using established root cause and corrective action tools.
  • Conduct evacuation drills and other emergency drills as directed by the CMSI EHS Manager, APM Revamp Projects Manager, or client.
  • Ensure that safety-related documents are compiled for verification by legal authorities and external/corporate safety audit teams.
  • Enter any near-misses or incidents using the organization’s EHS system, which will be used to generate monthly EHS statistics/analysis reports.
  • Maintain and periodically update the safety bulletin board.
  • Conduct start-of-shift meetings, daily site walkthroughs, and site safety condition observations.
  • Have the right to stop work when observing violations of life-saving rules.
  • Complete routine observations that direct employees to correct defects in facilities, safety equipment, instruments, and tools.
  • Review Permit To Work (PTW) documentation, participate in joint site inspections, and approve PTW by coordinating with O&M managers.
  • Perform work risk assessments and develop mitigation measures

 

Required Qualifications

  • Education Requirement: Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety, environmental science, or a related field.  An equivalent combination of education and experience will be also considered.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in a safety-related role, such as Safety Coordinator, EHS Specialist, or similar position within the industrial or construction sector.

 

  • Skills/training/certifications:
    • NFPA 70E training and/or knowledge of NFPA 70E standard
    • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification
    • Strong knowledge of OSHA standards, EPA regulations, and other industry-relevant safety and environmental regulations.
    • Familiarity with conducting Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), Permit to Work (PTW) forms, and safety standdowns.
    • Hands-on experience with workplace safety audits, hazard assessments, incident investigation, and risk mitigation.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective reporting and training.
    • Strong leadership and team management abilities to promote safety culture across teams.
    • Analytical and problem-solving skills to identify potential hazards and implement solutions.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

    • NFPA Certified Electrical Safety Technician (CEST)
    • Proficiency in both English and Spanish is highly preferred to communicate effectively in a bilingual environment.

Working Conditions:

 

  • Travel Requirement: 25%-50%
