MHICA's technicians build and join wing assemblies and fuselage sections, as well as perform systems and flight control assembly installations and testing.

 

Scope of Position

Reporting to the Supervisor - Facilities & Maintenance, the Material Handler will be responsible for transporting / moving large components and finished products to designated locations employing cranes, forklifts, or any other recommended means.

  • Operate winches / cranes / forklifts and other loading devices to load and unload materials onto and off trucks and loading docks of warehouse industrial plant areas.
  • Wrap large components, with lightweight tarp and be able to use “Propane torches” as required.
  • Perform other material handling activities such as counting, weighing, sorting, packing, and unpacking.
  • Operate industrial trucks, tractors, loaders, and other equipment to transport materials to and from transportation vehicles and to store and retrieve materials in warehouses as required.
  • May perform other activities, such as opening containers and crates, filling orders, assisting in taking inventory and weighing and checking materials.
  • Document’s product shipment by recording units shipped.
  • Maintains material-handling equipment by completing pre-use inspections and making operator repairs.
  • Keeps inventory, loading areas, and machinery clean.
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds at a time.
  • Must wear appropriate safety gear (PPE), such as goggles and gloves, when handling box cutters or similar tools.

Experience

  • 2 years of related experience required.
  • Previous stock or inventory experience a plus.
  • Previous experience operating a forklift or pallet jack a plus.

Education

  • Completion of secondary school is required.
  • Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
