Material Handler
As a Material Handler for MHICA you will play a vital role in the efficient and accurate handling of materials, ensuring the timely off loads of materials and components to various departments to supporting the overall production process. The other vital operational role requires that the completed component be prepared, wrap, and load into transporting fixtures for customer deliveries. This function requires particular attention to details, organization, and adherence to health & safety standards.

Responsibilities
Off Loading
-
Offloading of materials or components within the designated assembly sections
-
Visual vigilance Inspection of materials for damage, defects, or discrepancies and report any issues to the appropriate personnel.
-
Ensure lifting and loading compliance with safety and quality standards during the handling process.
Inventory Management:
-
Organize, maintain, and identify components to control inventory in designated storage areas throughout our facility and assembly areas.
-
Conduct regular cycle counts and control physical inventory, such as lifting fitting, bolts, braces, strong backs, half-moons, and tie down arms.
Material Handling:
-
Safely transport materials within the facility using forklifts, pallet jacks, cranes, or other designated equipment.

Operate cranes to move heavy materials to and from storage areas and production lines.

Ensure proper packaging and labeling of materials for storage or shipment.
-
Collaborate with other departments to fulfill line moves or material requests and maintain an efficient production workflow.

Maintain accurate records of received materials, and material transactions through MHICA JIRA process.
Safety Compliance:
-
Adhere to established safety protocols and guidelines when handling materials, and components when operating cranes, driving forklift, or push/pulling of mobile jigs.

Identify and report any safety hazards or damage related to materials or components.
-
Work collaboratively with the quality control team to address and resolve any quality issues.
Skills & Qualifications
-
Ability to complete and receive equipment certification as set by MHICA Health & Safety requirements such as, Forklifts, pallet jacks, Crane operator.

Must be able to use pathways in the JIRA System to access requests and close requests once completed.

Strong organizational and time-management skills, along with flexible time shifts to support production requirements.

Comfortable working in environments that may include noise, time shift changes to support production schedules.
-
Ability to lift heavy objects and work in various positions (standing, kneeling, bending) as required.
-
Current work authorization for Canada is required for all openings.
