MHICA's technicians build and join wing assemblies and fuselage sections, as well as perform systems and flight control assembly installations and testing.

Scope of Position

 

Reporting to the Supervisor – Logistics, the Shipper/Receiver, is responsible for the shipping and receiving of incoming/outgoing parts.

 

  • Offloads product from trucks and provides for rotation on a “first in-first out” basis unless otherwise specified by a supervisor,
  • Stores all received product in the designated areas or communicates with supervisor in the event that product has not been stored in the designated area.
  • Notifies supervisor or purchaser when special or non-stock items have been received and stored,
  • Inspects all incoming trucks according to company guidelines. (Temperature, cleanliness and sanitation),
  • Records all deliveries in log,
  • Processes purchase orders in Warehouse Management System (WMS) after receiving physical product.
  • Inspects and verifies incoming parts against Purchase Order and Packing slips and logs/communicates any discrepancies,
  • Adheres to all health, safety and environmental policies and procedures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of self, staff and visitors,
  • Keeps the Supervisor and Team Lead well informed of daily operations,
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Skills and Qualifications

 

  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Knowledge of Warehouse Management System (WMS),
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team,
  • Demonstrated time management skills,
  • Exposure to quality systems and safety fundamentals.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism
  • Valid Ontario Driver’s License is required.
  • Licensed and operates a forklift safely and efficiently.
  • Ability to work in shifts to accommodate production scheduling.
  • Physical requirements:
    • Lifting up to 40 lbs.
    • Standing/walking for full shift hours as required.
    • Bending/twisting, reaching different shelf levels to lift a variety of aircraft and other parts as required,
    • Pushing/pulling of a variety of items and packed carts of aircraft and other parts as required.

 

 

Experience

 

  • 1-2 years of experience as Shipper/Receiver.
  • Experience within an aerospace or manufacturing environment, considered an asset.

Education

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
