Over the past decade, MHICA has built more than aircraft components, it has built a recognized worldwide reputation for capacity, precision, on-time delivery and excellence.  MHICA has two state-of-the-art facilities combined to 476,000 sq. ft.  This comprises of Manufacturing & Assembly, Engineering, Quality and Supply Chain, where more than 800 highly-skilled employees are working on Bombardier's sector-leading Global 5000/6000 and Challenger 350 business aircraft. MHICA's technicians build and join wing assemblies and fuselage sections, as well as perform systems and flight control assembly installations and testing.

 

Scope of Position


Reporting to the Manager – Production, the Supervisor- Production is responsible for the following duties:

 

  • Overseeing production schedules and ensuring daily production schedules are attained cost effectively to satisfy customer expectations.
  • Determining scheduling requirements and developing plans to continuously achieve production goals.
  • Responding to employee concerns in a timely manner (general issues, safety concerns, etc.)
  • Providing clear and specific performance feedback and guidance to employees; developing and improving employee performance through coaching, training and development activities.
  • Providing clear and specific performance feedback and appraises the effectiveness of employees on their annual developmental review.
  • Providing timely and complete paperwork as required
  • Maintaining Quality Procedures and Instructions within the department.
  • Leading and participating in on-the-job training and process improvements.
  • Leading continuous process improvements through Kaizen initiatives. 
  • Maintaining production reports and records.
  • Collaborating with cross functional teams.
  • Leading and participating in on-the-job training and process improvements.
  • Acting as a member of the continuous improvement team.
  • Ensuring all health and safety rules are followed accordingly.
  • Counseling employees on disciplinary issues and recommending disciplinary action. Attempting to resolve informal complaints and grievances.

 

Skills and Qualifications

 

  • Familiarity with applicable aspects of production activities.
  • Strong knowledge of Parts Control, Shipping, Receiving, Kitting, Inventory Control, Materials Handling Functions and features including crane operation and fork lift operation.
  • Strong communication, time management and organizational skills.

 

 

 

 

  • Availability to work rotating shifts, extended hours and provide weekend coverage when required.
  • Ability to provide technical support and excellent organizational skills in prioritizing workload to meet aircraft delivery schedule.
  • Excellent planning skills, problem solving ability, strong oral and written communication skills and strong computer skills including MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to effectively make and execute decisions in a fast paced Just In Time work environment
  • Ability to conduct on-the-job training and provide recommendation for employee training programs.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to coach employees on performance standards and makes recommendations.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of basic electrical and mechanical principles that apply to aircraft systems.
  • Knowledge of aircraft structure and the relationship of aircraft pneudraulic systems to the structure and to other aircraft systems and ability to operate test panels is preferred.
  • Skilled in common hand tools and test equipment.
  • Ability to interpret technical manuals, illustrations, specifications, diagrams and schematics.
  • Strong Background in the Aircraft Assembly process.
  • Exposure to quality systems and safety fundamentals.
  • Ability to work and interact with representatives from other departments throughout the organization.
  • Strong communication and time management skills.
  • Ability to coach employees on performance standards and makes recommendations.
  • Ability to interpret technical manuals, illustrations, specifications, diagrams and schematics.

 

 

Experience

 

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in aerospace industry and familiarity with aerospace parts and assemblies, manufacturing (machining) and assembly processes.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Supervisor in a fast-paced Manufacturing Environment, preferably in Aerospace is considered a strong asset.

 

Education

  • College diploma or University Degree in an Aerospace or Management related field.
