MHI Canada Aerospace, Inc. (MHICA), a group company of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, is a Tier 1 manufacturer of major aircraft structures and assemblies, based in Mississauga, Ontario. Over the past decade, MHICA has built more than aircraft components, it has built a recognized worldwide reputation for capacity, precision, on-time delivery and excellence. MHICA has two state-of-the-art facilities combined to 476,000 sq. ft. This comprises of Manufacturing & Assembly, Engineering, Quality and Supply Chain, where more than 800 highly-skilled employees are working on Bombardier's sector-leading Global 5000/6000 and Challenger 350 business aircraft. MHICA's technicians build and join wing assemblies and fuselage sections, as well as perform systems and flight control assembly installations and testing.
Scope of Position
Reporting to Director – Strategic Sourcing, the Supplier Industrialization Manager is responsible for coordinating internal resources and vendors for the flawless execution of projects, also ensuring that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and budget. Other duties include:
- Work closely with Sourcing Commodity Managers and MHICA cross-functional teams to develop project scopes and objectives,
- Identify project requirements and lead the project planning sessions for part/ assembly transfers at suppliers. Forecast resource requirements and ensure their availability and allocation (both at the supplier and at MHICA),
- Develop detailed New Product Implementation (NPI) project plans to review progress toward delivery of first article parts and assemblies. As a minimum, plans will include significant Milestones and Actions to be completed,
- Work with suppliers to prepare effective status reports by gathering, analyzing, and summarizing relevant information. Schedule and lead status meetings with suppliers and cross functional MHICA personnel to ensure alignment with production goals,
- Use appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in project scope, schedule, and costs,
- Utilize effective Risk Identification methods and develop Risk Mitigation Plans to address issues/ concerns. Escalate significant concerns to senior management at both MHICA and the supplier,
- Continue monitoring of initial production beyond the achievement of First Article Inspection (FAI) until process stability is assured,
- Actively participate in the Strategic Sourcing process including Program Management Reviews and the Supplier evaluation process,
- Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors,
- Conduct post project evaluation (After Action Reports) and identify successful and unsuccessful project elements/ approaches to be used in continuous process improvement.

Skills and Qualifications
- Strong working knowledge of aerospace fabrication and assembly methods,
- Strong working knowledge of aerospace quality and engineering requirements/ practices (AS9100, NADCAP, etc.)
- Ability to complete projects in a timely manner,
- Ability to lead project teams of various sizes and see them through to completion,
- Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills,
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills,
- Capacity to manage high stress situations,
- Ability to multi-task and manage various project elements simultaneously,
- Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills,
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
