Job Description: 

SUMMARY

This position is responsible for the overall management and implementation of Dedicated Controls Engineer (DCE) position.  Including but not limited to the coordination of Mitsubishi Power resources required to successfully implement the requirements of the DCE contract.  The DCE is a mid-level engineer position. This category is for personnel experienced in the Gas Turbine/Steam Turbine controls field. The DCE shall be capable of performing the duties and responsibilities listed below, in addition to Turbine Controls Engineer Level II requirements.  This position will be located near Delta, Utah and will require candidate to be located within 100 miles of the facility.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Understand and comply with all contract requirements and the DCE Responsibilities listed therein;
  • Have the required knowledge to perform complex troubleshooting of the Mitsubishi Power control systems;
  • Prior experience with Netmation and/or Ovation control systems considered a plus;
  • Capable of supervising subcontractor work on Mitsubishi Power instrumentation and improvement works;
  • Capable of connecting all temporary monitoring equipment such as CABS, CASS, and CPFM;
  • Have an understanding of Mitsubishi Power combustion tuning and hydrogen electrolyzer operation and concept;
  • Provide start-up commissioning, operations and/or troubleshooting support for equipment failures and determine root cause analysis and implement solutions;
  • Capable of supporting operations and/or troubleshooting of hydrogen electrolyzer and other surrounding process variables
  • Prepare and submit accurate reports regarding conditions, required actions and obtained results;
  • Travel to customer plant site(s) for the purpose of planning outage requirements, providing technical direction, and meeting with the customer on all contract issues;
  • Working with the LTSA Program Manager, understand and follow the history of parts in the units. This includes the hours, starts, and remaining life of parts in the unit and in repair;
  • Serve as a focal point for the resolution of technical issues. Track and resolve technical issues within the Netmation control system. Track ancillary system issues. Including all warranty issues;
  • Provide project administration, including the documentation of warranty issues;
  • Perform other such duties as may be required.

  • Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree (BA) in Engineering from four-year college or university plus six (6) years experience; or at least eight (8) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.  Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Computer Skills: Knowledge of database, project management, spreadsheet and word processing software, electronic mail, graphics, technical diagrams, flow charts, etc.
