Role Overview

The Director of PGS Business Operations & Capabilities is a business leader within PGS, accountable for the operational performance and strength of the capabilities through which PGS sells, delivers, and engineers. Positioned within the business and working with IT as a delivery partner, this leadership role is responsible for the people, data, tools, and ways of working that enable the organization to secure new business, deliver service, and execute engineering operations. Success is measured by improvements in outcomes such as quote-to-order cycle time, outage execution, service margin, engineering change turnaround, and customer satisfaction. The Director evaluates each capability from two complementary perspectives. The operational perspective addresses how well work is performed across commercial, service, and customer delivery functions. The strategic perspective addresses the organization's long-term direction and the capabilities that direction will require. Drawing on these perspectives, the Director identifies capability gaps, determines which capabilities should be developed, strengthened, or retired, and selects the most appropriate means of closing each gap: organization and role changes, skills and training, process improvement, or technology such as an enhancement to an existing solution, an integration, a commercial product, custom development, or an engineering solution. The Director leads a team responsible for PGS-dedicated capabilities and for representing PGS within shared enterprise solutions, and establishes a prioritized, funded capability roadmap aligned to measurable operational, engineering, and strategic outcomes.
