Role Overview
Controls Engineer Level I is an entry level engineer position. This category is for personnel with limited experience in the Gas Turbine/Steam Turbine controls field.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Able to read standard electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Provide calibration of field devices.
• Verify slot assignment, output, transmitter, failsafe structure, connections, display, system/loop check, operational, functional and tuning.
• Able to operate basic electrical test equipment such as a multimeter, megger, etc.
• Perform instrument loop calculation and operation set points.
• Prepare and submit accurate reports regarding conditions, required actions and obtained results.
• Heavy overnight travel (at least 70%) by land and/or air.
• Perform other such duties as may be required.

Knowledge, Skills & Education
Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor's degree (BA) in Engineering from four-year college or university; or at least three (3) years of military experience; or at least one (1) year of experience working in related field.s
Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Computer Skills: Knowledge of database, project management, spreadsheet and word processing software, electronic mail, graphics, technical diagrams, flow charts, etc.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT
Regularly required to stand, walk, bend, talk, and hear.
Must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
May be exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals and loud environments.Adherence to safety procedures, including PPE (hardhat, safety glasses, hearing, and fall protection), is required.
