Mitsubishi Power Americas, Inc. is looking for Field Service Mechanical Specialists. Heavy overnight travel will be required. This position can be based anywhere in the United States.
Summary
The Field Service Mechanical Specialist ensures the integrity of our products. You will work hands on turbine combustors and components at our client’s sites.
The ideal candidate will have a certificate from a Technical or Manufacturing certificate program or a minimum of two years related experience and/or training.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Align turbine combustors and components including inter-stage seal housings, blade rings
- and transitions
- Perform rigging techniques associated with blade ring rollout, heavy cylinder lifts, and turbine rotor removal/installation.
- Perform coupling alignment on small industrial rotating equipment and industrial turbine generators.
- Utilize safety and material control procedures during opening, inspection, and closing of turbine generators.
- Remove and install turbine blades and vane segments.
- Use precision measuring equipment for interpretation of data.
- Troubleshoot complicated mechanical/electrical problems.
- Maintain tooling inventory and communicate re-order with the Field Supervisor
- Heavy overnight travel (at least 70%) by land and/or air
- Maintain in good status a driver’s license and passport
- Perform other such duties as may be required
- Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures reporting unsafe activities to Management.

- Education and/or Experience: High School diploma or equivalent. Technical or manufacturing certificate program from college or technical school; or a minimum of two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Computer Skills: basic computer skills to access all necessary online training and email communications.
- Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
