Role Overview
Financial Business Analyst II will be responsible for providing analytic support by maintaining, analyzing, and reporting key performance measures to the business unit management. This role requires the individual to work independently as well as part of the overall team, with a high level of initiative and motivation to ensure that deliverables are met. Major responsibilities will include data mining and analysis to supply value-added information to optimize processes by using various reporting and analytical tools. Additionally, this position will help to further develop the framework for evaluating and measuring operational and strategic performance and highlight areas of focus and opportunity to be able to provide excellent service to our internal and external customers.
Key Responsibilities
• Collaborate daily in the activities of revenue recognition, consolidating and analyzing financial statements (Income Statements & Balance Sheet).
• Prepare required disclosures, budgets and key performance measures associated with Field Service projects.
• Prepare Ad Hoc reports to provide transparency around the operational performance of Field Service projects.
• Responsible for financial performance regarding P&L and Balance Sheet.
• Create and report accurate forecasts for revenue, expenses, and other key financial metrics.
• Conduct variance analysis to explain differences between actual financial results and forecast or budgets.
• Work closely with internal teams to ensure financial objectives are met.
• Analyze operating results and historical data to identify trends and provide recommendations.
• Support the maintenance of General Ledger including various accounts, such as Unbilled Receivables, Deferred Sales, Work in Process, Warranty, Accrued Expenses, Sales, Cost of Goods Sold, Depreciation and Operating Expenses.
• Perform accounting closing duties by preparing projects accruals journal entries, reconciling and analyzing different accounts.
• Responsible of reconciliation of internal accounts.
• Responsible for preparing financial information requested by internal and external auditors.
• Assist in the preparation of the annual budget, including gathering input from various departments.
• Monitor budgetary performance and work with departments to control costs and optimize resource allocation.
• Track Key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure financial operational efficiency.
• Communicate financial information clearly to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
• Ensure all deadlines and schedules are met on time and in accordance with the closing schedule.
Other Duties and Responsibilities
- Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures reporting all unsafe activities to Management and/or Human Resources.
- Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
- Contribute to building a positive team spirit.
- Communicate effectively with staff and management at all levels.
- Protect confidential information by not communicating, disclosing to, or using it for benefit of 3rd parties.
Requirements
- bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance from four-year College or university and at least (3-5) years related experience.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
- Experience with ERP systems and SAP required.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Knowledge of ERP systems, accounting, database, manufacturing, project management, spreadsheet, word processing and email software. SAP required.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis and must not require employer immigration sponsorship, now or in the future.
