Role Overview

The Global Sourcing Senior Manager, supporting the Power Generation Services (PGS) Business Unit, is responsible for executing the sourcing and delivery of goods and services sold by Mitsubishi Power to ensure on‑time delivery, contractual quality and performance compliance, and achievement of business profitability objectives. Reporting to the Director of PGS Supply Chain, this role leads a team of supply chain professionals, partners with internal stakeholders, and manages external suppliers to drive continuous improvement in cost, quality, and process efficiency. Responsibilities include procurement of materials, equipment, tools, Mitsubishi Power–designed components, third‑party and commercial spare parts, and subcontracted services supporting field service, LTSA, gas and steam turbines, generators, auxiliaries, and related systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a sourcing team responsible for procuring goods and services supporting PGS operations, including raw materials, equipment, tools, Mitsubishi Power‑designed components, commercial spare parts, supplies, and subcontract services for field service, LTSA, gas and steam turbines, generators, and auxiliary systems.
  • Develop and implement standardized sourcing processes and procedures, driving consistency and operational efficiency.
  • Support supplier qualification and governance, including initial, recurring, and expanded supplier evaluations.
  • Develop, maintain, and communicate supplier performance metrics, ensuring alignment with contract deliverables and PGS project requirements.
  • Implement processes, training, and tracking systems to identify, reduce, and eliminate part rework.
  • Drive cost‑reduction initiatives and productivity improvements in coordination with the PGS Execution organization.
  • Improve supplier performance across on‑time delivery, quality, and competitive value against industry benchmarks.
  • Manage and execute the approved departmental budget effectively.
  • Support team and organizational goals, including employee development through regular check‑ins and annual performance reviews.
  • Act as a change‑management champion, promoting continuous improvement in processes, systems, and organizational values.
  • Foster a positive, collaborative team culture, communicating effectively with employees and leaders at all levels.
  • Ensure compliance with safety policies, company procedures, confidentiality requirements, and ethical standards, always maintaining the highest level of integrity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business required.
  • 10+ years of Supply Chain Management experience, including sourcing and supplier management.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience (1+ year) building and developing high‑performing teams.
  • Strong strategic mindset and organizational agility, with the ability to operate effectively across matrixed organizations.
  • Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Deep expertise with SAP / Ariba and strong working knowledge of SAP.
  • Strong technical experience with combustion turbines, steam turbines, generators, auxiliary equipment, and balance‑of‑plant (BOP) systems.
  • Proven success in cost reduction, lead‑time reduction, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and SAP.
  • Ability to travel up to 20%.
