Mitsubishi Power Americas, Inc. in Orlando, FL is looking for a Hardware and Fasteners Global Sourcing Specialist.

 

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

 

  •  Source and Procure hardware components and fasteners, including screws, bolts, nuts, washers, rivets, couplings, and other related items.
  • Ability to review and understand engineering standards and drawings
  • Evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, and delivery speed to ensure cost-effective purchasing.
  • Work with suppliers to resolve quality issues and return defective items.
  • Maintain detailed records of purchases and supplier performance.
  • Prepare reports on inventory status, usage trends, and cost analysis.
  • Negotiate prices, terms, and contract with supplier to ensure cost-effective procurement.  
  • Manage purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of materials.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers.
  • Monitor supplier performance and resolve any issues related to quality or delivery.
  • Conduct supplier audits and assessments to ensure compliance with company standards.  
  • Analyze inventory data to forecast future purchasing needs.
  • Conduct cost analyses to identify areas for potential savings.
  • Monitor spending against budget and report variances to management.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements in procurement and supply chain management.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams to implement best practices and improve efficiency.
  • Negotiates terms and conditions with suppliers and coordinates with legal when required.
  • Travel up to 10%.
  • Perform other such duties as may be required.

  •  Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures reporting all unsafe activities to Management and/or Human Resources.
  • Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
  • Support ISO 9001 audits and compliance efforts.
  • Contribute to building a positive team spirit.
  • Communicate effectively with subordinates and management at all levels, utilizing verbal skills as well as written documents including sketches, drawings, plans, reports, and presentations.
  • Protect confidential information by not communicating, disclosing to, or using for benefit of third parties.
  • Always maintain the highest degree of honesty and integrity.

 

 

 

Knowledge, Skills, & Education

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree from accredited college or university; and as a minimum three (3) years of procurement experience in the power generation industry; or eight (8) years of procurement experience; or any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities has been achieved. MBA/ ISM/ APCIS Members/ CSCM or CPIM, preferred.
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems such as SAP.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, engineering drawings, engineering specifications for material, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
