Role Overview
The Human Resources Associate (Intern) supports day‑to‑day HR operations by assisting with employee lifecycle transactions, HR system updates, onboarding coordination, and process documentation. This role provides hands‑on exposure to core HR functions and supports the PGS organization by ensuring accurate, timely, and consistent HR support. The intern works closely with HR partners and cross‑functional teams to help maintain efficient and compliant HR operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Demonstrates our core competencies: Action oriented, change champion, customer-focused, developing self & others, and ownership
- Support employee onboarding, job changes, and offboarding coordination.
- Enter and maintain employee data in HR systems (UKG).
- Initiate and track background checks and onboarding tasks.
- Assist with Concur and AMEX credit card processes, including profile updates and application coordination.
- Maintain organizational charts, employee directories, and HR records.
- Document HR processes, workflows, and standard procedures.
- Create job aids and reference materials for internal use.
- Respond to routine HR transactional inquiries and escalate as needed.
- Collaborate with Payroll, IT, and Travel & Expense teams to support HR operations.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a college or university program, preferably Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field.
- Strong organizational, communication, and attention‑to‑detail skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint); familiarity with HRIS and/or Concur is a plus.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
Physical & Safety Requirements
At Mitsubishi Power Americas, safety is a shared responsibility.
