Role Overview

The LTSA Service Manager position is responsible for the overall technical planning and execution of maintenance events for the Mexico Region. Responsible for ensuring contractual requirements are met while successfully executing inspections on/under budget. The Service Manager position requires the ability to clearly communicate both internally and with customers. The Service Manager must have the capability to make sound recommendations regarding safety, quality, reliability and integrity of the products and services provided. The position also leads efforts, collaborates with leadership, and provides strategic oversight to ensure efficiencies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates our core competencies: Action oriented, change champion, customer-focused, developing self & others, and ownership.
  • Lead the technical planning and execution of assigned LTSA and transactional projects in the Mexico Region, including scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, in accordance with LTSA planning guidelines and contractual requirements.
  • Coordinate internal resources, engineering and service technical leads, Supply Chain, and local and international suppliers required to execute inspections based on the project Division of Responsibility.
  • Coordinate consumable, contingency, and planned parts needed to support outages at customer plant sites.
  • Provide direction, leadership, and guidance to the assigned Service Execution team during planned and unplanned events, including EHS, quality, procedures, productivity, cost, schedule, and resource utilization.
  • Remain accountable for overall project performance, budget, quality, and schedule, and conduct post-outage reviews to identify best practices, improvement opportunities, and feedback for relevant departments.
  • Manage contractual Open, Inspection, Repair, and Close activities; support technical issue resolution, regional process improvements, ISO 9001 initiatives, safety practices, foreign material exclusion, and outage execution best practices.
  • Build collaborative customer relationships, maximize capable scope contracted with Mitsubishi Power, understand contractual requirements and deliverables, and travel to customer plant sites for outage planning and execution.
  • Support departmental and company goals, communicate effectively at all levels, protect confidential information, maintain honesty and integrity, contribute to 365/24/7 service operations, and perform other duties as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering from a four-year college or university; a minimum of seven (7) years of directly related work experience may be substituted for the degree requirement. 
  • Minimum of three years of project management experience.
  • Knowledge of gas turbine engineering, turbine configuration, design, materials, boundary conditions, and steam turbine/generator fundamentals.
  • Bilingual Spanish and English required; Portuguese and English preferred. 
  • Ability to write reports, procedures, and present information to managers, customers, and teams.
  • Mathematical proficiency (percentages, algebra, geometry, volume, etc.).
  • Ability to solve practical problems with limited standardization and interpret technical instructions.
  • Proficiency with email, word processing, spreadsheets, and basic database tools. 
  • Exceptional communication, strategic thinking, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to travel 30%.
