Role Overview

• Repair, install, and maintain electrical and mechanical components of production machinery and equipment, including engines, motors, pumps, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and machine controls. Be available and on site for emergencies that may arise 24-7-365, including machine breakdowns, power outages, and weather events.

Key Responsibilities

• Comply with company, federal, state, and local health and safety standards, policies, practices, and procedures, and report unsafe activities to Management and/or Human Resources.
• Complete assigned preventive maintenance activities.
• Assist with small projects as a team member, installer, and fabricator.
• Operate a personal computer for electronic mail, word processing, printing, PDF files, spreadsheets, graphics, and departmental documentation requirements.
• Read and interpret electrical drawings and sketches using common symbols.
• Specify, configure, and install direct replacement electrical components.
• Understand and measure basic electrical system concepts, including single-phase and three-phase power, AC/DC, voltage, current, resistance, and capacitance.
• Design and install control circuits using simple components such as switches, relays, indicators, and buttons.
• Understand power-system principles involving conductors, circuit protection, transformers, motors, power supplies, and generators.
• Understand the basic principles of PLC, HMI, PCNC, SCADA, and other control systems.
• Read and understand mechanical drawings using common symbols.
• Understand basic mechanical principles, including temperature, pressure, and flow.
• Diagnose and install basic mechanical components, including pumps, valves, regulators, filters, and pulleys.
• Specify, configure, and install direct replacement mechanical components.
• Understand basic principles of motion control.
• Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals and contribute to building a positive team spirit.
• Communicate effectively with subordinates and management at all levels.
• Protect confidential information by not communicating, disclosing, or using it for the benefit of third parties.
• Maintain the highest degree of honesty and integrity at all times.
• Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

• At least two years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; write routine reports and correspondence; and present information effectively in one-on-one and small-group situations.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; compute rate, ratio, and percent; and draw and interpret bar graphs.
• Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out written, oral, or diagrammed instructions and address problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Basic personal computer skills, including electronic mail, word processing, spreadsheets, and graphics.
• Ability to regularly stand, walk, bend, talk, and hear; frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds; and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work in an environment that may be loud and may involve occasional exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals.
• Ability to follow Mitsubishi Power and customer safety procedures, including required use of personal protective equipment such as a hardhat, safety glasses, goggles, hearing protection, and fall protection.
