SUMMARY

The Master Scheduler will possess knowledge and experience in a planning environment with expertise in balancing material inventories with the needs of highly variable demands. This role will proactively communicate with program managers, buyers, order fulfillment, and outage support specialists to ensure confidence in delivery commitments while meeting internal requirements. The Master Scheduler will also drive problem resolution, lead process improvement initiatives, and collaborate with sourcing teams on safety stock, EOQs, and cost reduction strategies. The position is responsible for aligning demand requirements with purchasing and manufacturing sources of supply.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist parts management with demand review, supply review, and integrated reconciliation functions in the S&OP process.

  • Provide oversight of MRP controller assignments, rough cut capacity planning, and inventory control for OEM Service parts.

  • Support reporting and monitoring of demand accuracy, supply commitments, and stock disposition.

  • Facilitate make/buy determinations at material creation in collaboration with PLM, factories, engineering, and requestors.

  • Provide technical input to item master entry and maintenance to support parts objectives.

  • Design and lead processes to ensure accurate BOM strategies for engineer-to-order, new product development, subcontract, and modification scopes.

  • Contribute to the Engineering Change Request/Notification process and assess impacts of ECNs on inventory and production.

  • Create monthly inventory forecasts for KPI reporting.

  • Develop strategies for material consolidation, influencing conversion timing, and minimizing duplication of active materials.

  • Provide quarterly recommendations to leadership on slow-moving inventory reserves and part disposition.

  • Document business process flows and narratives to maximize ERP system capabilities.

  • Provide recommendations for manufacturing synergies and impacts on inventory KPIs.

  • Perform other duties as required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics Management, Supply Chain Management, Business Management, or a related field; or at least 5–8 years of experience in material planning, production control, and inventory management in a manufacturing environment.

  • APICS training or certification is desirable.

  • Knowledge of SAP is required.

  • Experience with import/export processes and Foreign Trade Zone activities.

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and financial skills with the ability to interface across all levels of the organization.

  • Ability to analyze and resolve variances between actual and system inventory.

  • Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, and customers.

  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures such as discounts, interest, proportions, percentages, and volumes. Proficiency in applying algebra and geometry concepts.

  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

  • Computer Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) and basic database systems.

  • Regularly required to stand, walk, bend, talk, and hear.

  • Frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.

  • Occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals.
