Mitsubishi Power Americas, Inc. in Orlando, Florida, is looking for a Parts Project Manager.

 

SUMMARY

 

Responsible for managing and coordinating assigned projects through planning, engineering, procurement, commissioning, validation, initial operations, and contract close-out. Provide critical review and feedback from completed and on-going projects to facilitate commercial, engineering, and sales teams in accurate job scoping, cost estimating, and proposal/contract development for future projects. Primary customer contact for active projects. Resolves problems and coordinates the final turnover of the project to the customer.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Facilitates communication of project health and status with project teams, stakeholders, and leadership as agreed and identified during project kickoff.
  • Prepares and participates in risk, issue and opportunity identification and mitigation, and escalates to leadership when assistance is required to remove roadblocks.
  • Captures and documents all lessons learned and provides summary briefings as necessary.
  • Leads others and directs all phases of assigned projects by utilizing project management methodologies, systems, tools and quality standards as defined by Mitsubishi Power in developing project plans and deliverables that meet identified requirements.
  • Develops an integrated project schedule including critical path for the end-to-end tasks and activities necessary to successfully implement the product or service of the project and ensures resources are identified.
  • Ensures assigned resources are executing as planned. Provides tracking and reporting to plan and with occasional guidance, works with project teams on implementation of recovery plans as necessary.
  • Monitors all project activity including schedules, customer/contract deliverables, internal handoffs, spending and related items to ensure timely and quality completion of assigned projects.
  • Establishes alliances with other departments and organizations by recognizing dependencies in order to assess potential partnership and commitment to the project.
  • Provides feedback and performance assessments to appropriate leadership in a timely manner and addresses and helps resolve conflict among project team members.
  • Facilitates periodic project meetings to ensure action item identification, assignment, and monitoring to completion to support project execution.
  • Continuously seeks to expand and improve personal knowledge in the area of project management best practices.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external project team members.
  • Support Training and certification development including identification of process gaps, training of other team members.
  • Bring a continuous improvement mindset for including but not limited to process improvement and data visibility development.
  • Perform other such duties as may be required.

  • Business travel overnight, air/land of up to 15% as needed.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EDUCATION

  • Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree (BS) in technical or business-related field from four-year college or university; and four years related experience in managing complex projects. PMP certification is desired, but not mandatory.
  • Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. English/Spanish a PLUS.

  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Computer Skills: Knowledge of database software, project managements software, spreadsheet and word processing software, electronic mail, graphics, technical diagrams, flow charts, etc. SAP experience preferred and Intermediate Excel required.
