Role Overview
The Entry-Level Power BI Analyst will support the development, maintenance, and governance of enterprise Power BI reports and datasets across multiple business domains. This role is ideal for a candidate who has foundational Power BI experience and a strong interest in data visualization, analytics, and data governance. The analyst will work closely with senior BI team members to ensure reporting consistency, accuracy, and alignment with enterprise data standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in building, maintaining, and publishing Power BI reports and dashboards.
- Work with senior analysts to apply data governance standards, including report certification, documentation, and metadata management.
- Support report refresh operations, dataset updates, and issue resolution.
- Help document data sources, DAX measures, and report filters for certification and audit readiness.
- Conduct data validation and reconciliation against Golden Record sources.
- Participate in testing, troubleshooting, and report performance tuning.
- Support user onboarding and training activities for Power BI Pro users.
- Maintain shared catalog and documentation repositories.
Requirement
- Bachelor’s degree in data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 1–2 years of experience working with Power BI or similar BI tools.
- Foundational understanding of Power Query (M language) and DAX.
- Basic knowledge of data modeling concepts (relationships, star schema, normalization).
- Familiarity with Excel, SQL, or other data tools.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Effective communication and collaboration across technical and business teams.
- Desire to grow into governance, data quality, and Power BI administration functions.
- Exposure to Microsoft Fabric or Power BI Premium environments.
- Experience integrating data from ERP or CRM systems (e.g., SAP, Salesforce).
- Basic understanding of deployment pipelines, workspace roles, or capacity administration.
- Experience creating report documentation, checklists, or data catalogs.
- Power BI or Microsoft Data Analyst Associate certification.
