SUMMARY

The Product Commercialization Manager (PCM) oversees the creation, governance, and communication of internal and external product information, data, and materials within the power generation services sector. This role supports sales growth, product commercialization efforts, data integrity, and streamlined business processes. Collaborating across Engineering, Marketing, Service Operations, Sales, Commercial Operations, the Project Management Office (PMO), and Product Line Management, the PCM ensures product-related content is accurate, strategically aligned, and clearly communicated. The role drives product commercialization through structured, data-driven analysis, delivering clear, value-based messaging aligned with business goals.

EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCIES

Candidates should have experience in product commercialization, content development, and data management in power generation or related industrial sectors. A strong understanding of proposal generation, market intelligence, and sales-oriented documentation is expected. Familiarity with engineering specifications, bills of materials, and product scope definitions is critical. The ideal candidate demonstrates exceptional organization, communication, and cross-functional leadership skills in a dynamic, multicultural environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Product Content Creation and Management:

  • Oversee creation, maintenance, approval, and governance of product communication and sales materials.

  • Prepare engineering-based documentation including standard scope definitions, specifications, and bills of materials.

  • Develop and manage sales tools such as presentations, GOA slides, and cost estimates.

 

Data Governance and Financial Forecasting:

  • Maintain accuracy of product data used in forecasting, reporting, and analytics tools (e.g., Power BI, SharePoint).

  • Collaborate with Business Planning and Product Line Managers to generate financial forecasts.

  • Review data governance processes regularly for compliance and improvement.

 

Product Marketing and Market Intelligence:

  • Integrate market and competitor data into messaging and sales strategies.

  • Work with Market Intelligence to incorporate voice-of-customer insights into decision-making.

  • Translate market insights into actionable internal and external communications.

 

Product Launch and Commercialization:

  • Collaborate with Customer Excellence and Product Line Managers to maintain accurate product catalogs.

  • Ensure consistent and clear product messaging across communication channels.

  • Coordinate efforts for timely and successful product commercialization.

 

Commercial Deal Support:

  • Serve as a liaison between Product Line Management, Service Operations, Sales, and Commercial Operations.

  • Support proposal accuracy, pricing strategy, and cost evaluations.

  • Develop and approve Standard Product Offerings for repeatable proposals.

  • Provide product and commercial data to sales teams for strategic opportunities.

 

Process Improvement and System Optimization:

  • Drive improvements in systems such as CRM and engineering platforms.

  • Manage internal proposal processes including ESRs, ERFs, GOAs, and standard product proposals.

 

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Actively collaborate with PMO, VOC teams, Product Development, Engineering, Marketing, Sales, Parts, Supply Chain, and Product Line Management.

  • Ensure communication is transparent and aligned for successful outcomes.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EDUCATION

Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, Finance, or related field; minimum five (5) years of experience in power generation or related industry; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Project management and cross-functional leadership experience required.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proposal development and commercial process support experience.

  • Familiarity with engineering documentation.

  • Experience analyzing market intelligence and translating insights into sales content.

 

Language Skills:

  • Ability to interpret technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.

  • Superior written, verbal, and presentation communication skills for all organizational levels.

  • Experience presenting to executives and public audiences.

 

Mathematical Skills:

  • Ability to apply statistical and analytical techniques (variance analysis, factor analysis, etc.).

 

Reasoning Ability:

  • Ability to define problems, gather data, and develop actionable conclusions.

  • Comfortable working with abstract and technical variables.

  • Flexible in adapting to shifting priorities and requirements.

 

Computer Skills:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, SharePoint, Power BI, CRM systems, and project management tools.

  • Strong working knowledge of diagrams, flowcharts, and database applications.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Regularly required to stand, walk, bend, talk, and hear.

  • Frequently lift/move up to 25 pounds; occasionally up to 50 pounds.

  • May be required to wear PPE including hardhats, safety glasses, hearing protection, and fall protection.
