Role Overview

The Project Control Engineer is responsible for supporting Field Services projects through proposal development, cost estimation, high-level scheduling, and implementation support for Field Service Projects. This role contributes directly to the success of project planning and execution by developing standard work scope documents, estimating outage durations and costs, and collaborating with Commercial Operations and Sales to prepare customer proposals. Additional responsibilities may include providing ongoing cost tracking and assistance with Extra Work Authorizations (EWAs). The position requires strong analytical and technical skills, that includes the ability to proficiently use cost estimating software, along with the ability to communicate effectively and work cross-functionally. Occasional travel is required.

Key Responsibilities

• Demonstrates our core competencies: Action oriented, change champion, customer-focused, developing self & others, and ownership
• Develop cost estimating templates and standard work scope documents.
• Estimate Field Services outage durations and costs using cost estimating software.
• Assist Commercial Operations and Sales in the development of customer proposals.
• Coordinate and support pre-outage planning activities, including schedule development, parts list creation, and drawings preparation.
• Develop high-level outage schedules for Field Services projects.
• Participate in negotiation and implementation meetings as needed.
• Conduct site walkdowns for complex scopes to support accurate cost estimation.
• Apply field service knowledge in Gas, Steam, and Generator systems to support projects effectively.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure project estimates align with operational goals.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of estimating processes and tools.
• Travel overnight (20% or less) by land and/or air as required.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university.
• Minimum of three (3) year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Proficiency in cost estimating software and standard project management tools.
• Strong analytical and mathematical skills including statistical analysis, geometry, and trigonometry.
• Effective presentation skills with the ability to respond to questions from managers, clients, and customers.
• Ability to interpret and communicate technical data, drawings, schematics, and procedures.
• Strong communication skills, including the ability to prepare reports and effectively present information to various stakeholders.
• Effective problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Working knowledge of databases, spreadsheets, and word processing software.
• Valid driver’s license and passport required.

Physical & Safety Requirements

This role may involve lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally, with reasonable accommodations provided as needed.
