ROLE OVERVIEW

 

Parts Project Manager I is responsible for managing and coordinating assigned projects and outage parts requests through planning, engineering, procurement, commissioning, validation, initial operations, and purchase order close-out. Provide critical review and feedback from completed and ongoing projects and orders to keep projects and outages on schedule. Resolves outage parts request problems and coordinates the final quote or delivery of outage parts requests. Supports other projects as needed.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Facilitate communication of project or outage parts status with internal and field teams and stakeholders to meet outage and customer needs.
• Prepare and participate in risk, issue, and opportunity identification and mitigation, escalating to leadership when assistance is required.
• Capture and document lessons learned and provide summary briefings as necessary.
• Communicate cross-functionally and direct all phases of assigned projects and outage parts requests using project management methodologies, systems, tools, and quality standards as defined by Mitsubishi Power.
• Review field schedules including critical path parts needs to successfully deliver critical parts as requested.
• Ensure assigned resources supporting parts requests are executing as planned and provide tracking and reporting to plan.
• Monitor all project or outage activity including schedules, deliverables, and hand-offs to ensure timely and quality completion.
• Establish alliances with other departments and organizations to collaborate on outage requests or projects.
• Facilitate periodic meetings to ensure action item tracking and completion for outage or project execution.
• Continuously expand knowledge in project management best practices.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external team members.
• Support training and certification development including identifying process gaps and training other team members.
• Bring a continuous improvement mindset for process improvement and data visibility development.
• Perform other duties as required.


OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures reporting unsafe activities to management or HR.
• Ensure systems of record are accurate and maintained.
• Participate in team efforts to achieve department and company goals.
• Contribute to a positive team spirit and communicate effectively at all levels.
• Protect confidential information and ensure proper control of export-controlled data.
• Maintain the highest degree of honesty and integrity at all times.
• Business travel up to 15% as needed.


REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business-related field from an accredited university.
• Four years of related experience in managing complex projects; field experience with Gas or Steam turbines preferred.
• Strong knowledge of project management software, databases, spreadsheets, and reporting tools.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical documents and business correspondence.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office and project management applications.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT

 

Regularly required to stand and walk. Frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds. The noise level is usually moderate to loud; hearing protection may be required in some areas. All team members may be called on to support 24/7 service operations as needed.
