Project Support Specialist
Role Overview
Supports, tracks, develops reports and assists Project Managers, Ops Managers, Service Managers and LTSA Program Managers execute projects on schedule, under budget and with the highest quality standards. Maintain informational exchanges and communications with Sales, LTSA, Engineering, Order Fulfillment, Planning and Global Sourcing to ensure clear DOR and mutual understanding of priorities are maintained. Requires excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and the ability to work with multiple departments under pressure and meet short deadlines. Must have the ability to effectively handle multiple requests simultaneously and prioritize work based on schedule demands.
Key Responsibilities
- Assists Project Managers/Ops Manager/Service Managers/LTSA Program Manager with organizing and controlling project activities through communicating risks, opportunities and current state of assigned project.
- Oversees outstanding inquiry/quotes and order progress to ensure deadlines are met;
- Expedite and prioritize parts requests, as required to meet defined demands as well as emergencies.
- Coordinate meetings, resources, and information.
- Schedules and releases orders for shipments in accordance to MHPSA policies and customer requirements
- Provide afterhours support for assigned projects, outages and emergencies.
- Assist with obtaining technical and commercial information from the MHPS factories and MHPSA internal departments.
- Assist in managing relationships and operative efforts with MHPS factories.
- Assist planning and sourcing with identification of internal and external capabilities for in scope components and provide source of supply recommendations in order to determine appropriate cost and lead times.
- Assist pricing activities with estimating and both cost-based and market-based price determinations.
- Establish alliances with other departments and organizations by recognizing dependencies in order to assess potential partnership and commitment to the project. Develop and maintain constructive and cooperative interpersonal working relationships with others.
- Provide feedback and performance assessments to appropriate management in a timely manner and address and help resolve conflict among team members.
- Actively monitor open requests assigned to other functions and ensure progress is adequate, escalating as appropriate and communicating with affected functions to ensure clear expectations and feedback.
- Develop new methods and processes utilizing the latest IT tools to improve workflow, data management and communications within the company. This includes but not limited to ERP, PDM, CRM and SharePoint systems.
- Continuously seek to expand and improve personal knowledge of supported product technologies and project management best practices.
- Support the development and improvement of processes and procedures.
- Minimal overnight travel (less than 20%)

- Bachelor’s Degree in technical or business-related field from accredited college/university or its recognized equivalent in directly related work experience. Minimum three (3) years directly related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Fluent English. Conversational Spanish a plus.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, revenues, margins, and profits. Ability to apply concepts of accounting and finance.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Computer Skills: Knowledge of database software; inventory software; manufacturing software; order processing systems; project management software; spreadsheet software and word processing software. Advanced abilities working with large datasets desirable.
