Role Overview
The Quality Assurance Field Service Engineer is responsible for supporting Mitsubishi Power Americas Inc.’s internal and external customers by aligning quality initiatives with strategic business objectives. Ensure successful implementation of Mitsubishi Power’s overall business plan at customer sites.
Key Responsibilities
· Develop and monitor Project Quality Inspection Budgets for site work scope.
· Perform in-process and final inspections on product installation and/or service, including structural weldments, machine components, mechanical assemblies, and electrical assemblies.
Business travel up to 75% (domestic and international).
· Review weld procedures for compliance with ASW and ASME criteria.
· Analyze and distribute inspection reports submitted by contract inspectors.
· Establish key customer communication channels to drive quality improvement initiatives.
· Collaborate with Mitsubishi Power management, project teams, and other stakeholders to provide quality solutions.
· Understand and apply quality systems for industry-specific codes and standards.
· Plan, develop, and implement procedures supporting Mitsubishi Power strategy and goals.
· Utilize QA/QC principles to maintain high-capacity utilization and optimize manufacturing and service operations, ensuring product and service meet customer requirements.
· Apply construction, installation/service, and manufacturing/industrial knowledge to support QA/QC processes.
· Conduct inspections and testing to determine product/service conformance.
· Support Mitsubishi Power Quality Management System (QMS) processes and communications to ensure customer and corporate satisfaction.
· Manage and report on quality systems in alignment with ISO9001:2015, with emphasis on APQP and PPAP functions.
· Lead process development and ensure proper documentation.
· Provide ongoing support to suppliers’ quality, cost, and delivery objectives based on customer site surveillance visits.
· Collaborate with customers and suppliers to resolve quality-related issues and improve satisfaction.
· Monitor supplier part/service qualification and certification processes.
· Initiate customer site process/product improvements and cost reductions.
Requirements
Education & Experience
· Bachelor of Science (BS) in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or Quality Management from an accredited college/university, or five (5) years of related experience/training, or equivalent combination.
· Certifications (desirable): CQA, CQE, Nondestructive Testing, AWS/CWI Welding Inspection.
· Construction, field installation/service, and manufacturing/industrial experience.
· Ability to understand quality systems, interpret drawings, and use standard inspection equipment.
