Mitsubishi Power Americas, Inc. In Savannah, GA is looking for a Repair and Exchanges Project Manager II.

 

 

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

 

The Repair and Exchanges Project Manager II is based on site at SMW and has responsibility for management of servicing and maintenance of, but not limited to CRI’s for both GT and ST on an as needed basis:

  • Process TRF’s for rotors to and from customer sites.
  • Manage communication and updates of repairs and provide status updates to both internal and external customers monthly based on feedback from the SMW team.
  • Responsible for EWA establishing and communicating pricing in collaboration Orlando Parts Lifecycle Manager.
  • Meet with external customers at SMW to facilitate customer witness points during refurbishment process.
  • Review and approve final customer repair reports issued by SMW.
  • Manage financial reporting, including providing cost and pricing updates to CRM, cost tracking sheets, as well as managing CRM outage data to support open service orders.
  • Responsible for working with Orlando Repair and Parts
  • Work with the Sales and Service Operations organization to ensure final project billing and receivables are completed.
  • Work with project sites to ensure timing and requirements of needed equipment to manage rotor receipt.
  • Monitors, tracks, and controls change to the projects through formal change control management of requirements, configuration, performance measures, cost, schedule, project organization structure, and technology environment (release schedules, infrastructure changes, etc.).
  • Facilitates communication of project health and status with project teams, stakeholders and sponsors, and senior level management as agreed and identified in individual Project Communication Plans.  Prepares and participates in risk identification and mitigation or capture sessions and escalates to project or program leadership when assistance is required to remove roadblocks. 
  • Creates and ensures adherence to an operating rhythm conducive to other required reporting or briefings including gate, phase, or iteration reviews.  Captures and documents all lessons learned or after-action review comments and provides summary briefings, as necessary.
  • Identifies the customer KPI’s of a project and communicates those to the project team and to management.
  • Performs lessons learned meetings before and after the execution of the work.  Maintains the lessons learned database for future projects.
  • Provides feedback and performance assessments to appropriate management in a timely manner and addresses and helps resolve conflict among project team members.
  • Analyzes project performance measures to determine options and appropriate actions to increase project performance.  Coordinates and provides cost reporting and analysis on a regular schedule.
  • Continuously seeks to expand and improve personal knowledge in project management best practices.
  • Monitors all project activity including schedules, spending and related items to ensure timely and quality completion of assigned construction projects. Notifies Parts Lifecycle Manager of any situations that would have a significant impact on the completion date, cost, or quality.
  • Prepares, completes, or reviews all project reports to ensure accuracy. Provides project status report, financial reports, and project schedules in accordance with company guidelines on timeliness and completeness of information.
  • Facilitates periodic project status meeting with owner, owners’ rep, vendors, subcontractors, and others connected with the project. Prepares and distributes meeting minutes indicating agreements reached, task assignments and related information.
  • Follow up with PA’s and the client as needed to ensure timely payment of fees and other payments. Provide timely and accurate information to accounting to ensure proper invoice preparation to client. Prepare and submit change orders for approval of client and TGR Management.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with Field Service, Service Engineering, Parts, and PLM organizations, as well as vendors.
  • Perform other such duties as may be required

Knowledge, Skills, & Education

  • Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, statistics, mathematics, or other quantitative discipline. A minimum of 8 years of experience with gas and steam turbine part types, applications, repair, and manufacture. Knowledge of the purpose and limitations of parts within gas and steam turbines. Knowledge of general accounting principles.  PMP certification is preferable, but not required.
  • Language Skills: Fluency in Spanish is preferrable, but not required.  Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, financial statements, technical procedures.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures such as mean, standard deviation, proportions, percentages.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and statistics.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and statistics.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Computer Skills: medium to advanced personal computer skills including electronic mail, word processing, spreadsheet, database, data manipulation, analysis software. Microsoft Excel; SAP Navigation.  MS Project or P6 experience preferrable, but not required.
