Summary

Direct Mitsubishi Power technicians and subcontract personnel during the opening, inspection, and closing of gas & steam turbines, generators, valves, and auxiliaries during maintenance outages.

Select and apply field service techniques and procedures in the installation, modification, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of gas & steam turbines, generators, valves, and auxiliaries during maintenance outages.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Supervise personnel to accomplish installation, repair, analysis, or operation of customer’s equipment including but not limited to gas turbines, steam turbines, generators, exciters, valves, heat transfer apparatus and auxiliaries.
  • Understand fundamental supervisory concepts, practices, and procedures of turbine outage maintenance.
  • Perform standard tasks using established methods, principles, concepts, and procedures related to turbine outage maintenance.
  • Learn to assign work to other technical/professional personnel as necessary.
  • Implement Mitsubishi Power quality control, safety, and material control procedures.
  • Assist Field Service Engineer (FSE) and/or Project Manager (PM) with data evaluation.
  • Perform employee evaluations to ensure project quality and improvement.
  • Assist Field Operations in the development of procedures, processes and purchasing of tooling.
  • Maintain tooling inventory and communicate re-order with the FSE/PM.
  • Provide training to technicians, and subcontracted labor.
  • Foreman will be expected to perform as a working foreman for smaller outages. Foremen will be expected to perform as working Technician when required by business.
  • Able to use standard field service documentation (evaluations, turnover, expense reports, etc.).
  • Review and understand work scopes & division of responsibilities.
  • Able to read and understand component work break down structures and work packages.
  • Make regular progress toward completion of Foreman requirements as defined in Requirements publication.
  • Overnight travel by land and/or air; until contractual obligations are met.
  • Perform other such duties as may be required.

  • Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures reporting all unsafe activities to Management and/or Human Resources.  Develop ability to perform safety presentation (toolbox meeting) to field service personnel.

  • Maintain in good status a driver’s license and passport.
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of employees.
  • Protect confidential information by not communicating, disclosing to, or using for benefit of 3rd parties.

Knowledge, Skills, & Education

  • Education and/or Experience:  a combination of education and experience equaling seven (7) years of experience in power plant, Gas Turbine, Steam Turbine or Operations and Maintenance,
  • Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. 
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
  • Computer Skills: Knowledge of database, spreadsheet, electronic mail, etc.
  • Other Key Requirements:  Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and must possess and maintain a valid passport.
