SUMMARY

The Engineering Process Improvement Senior Engineer leads cross-functional initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, productivity, and effectiveness in high-complexity Gas Turbine Service Engineering projects. Utilizing Lean, Six Sigma, and other methodologies, this crucial role drives process optimization, implements streamlined workflows, and ensures measurable performance improvements through data-driven analysis and reporting.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Evaluate existing Department processes to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement.
    • Develop and implement strategies to enhance productivity and reduce waste and optimize resource utilization.
    • Utilize Lean, Six Sigma, and other methodologies to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
    • Lead and support change management efforts to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
    • Develop process mapping and create and/or refine standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency and efficiency.
    • Develop project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation plans.
    • Implement automation and digital transformation strategies to enhance productivity.
    • Utilize data visualization tools to track and report process performance.
    • Make schedule performance and resource allocation visible.
    • Apply predictive analytics to forecast potential inefficiencies.
    • Maintain knowledge of the latest process improvement techniques and industry best practices.
    • Act as a liaison between engineering, operations, and leadership to drive efficiency.
    • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure process improvements align with business goals.
    • Train employees on new processes and ensure smooth adoption across departments.
    • Develop training materials and conduct workshops and training sessions to educate teams on best practices.
    • Develop reports and presentations to communicate process improvement findings to executives.
    • Act as a change agent, promoting a culture of efficiency and innovation
    • Facilitate meetings and discussions to align teams on improvement strategies.
    • Perform other such duties as may be required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EDUCATION

      • Education and/or Experience: BS degree in Industrial Engineering or Business Immiseration from an accredited college or university, or past practical experience in the area of Process improvement of eight (8) years or more. A minimum of 6 years engineering experience is required (some work credit may be given for MS in Engineering, Operations Management or PhD degrees based on the relevancy of course and related project experience). Lean Six Sigma (Green/Black Belt), PMP (Project Management Professional) are preferred.
      • Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as industry reports and technical journals. Ability to write progress reports and correspondence including customer updates. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one, small group, and large group situations to customers, clients, vendors, and other employees of the organization.  External presentations will be reviewed and supported by Engineering Management prior to customer or client interactions.
      • Mathematical Skills: Ability to perform necessary calculations to satisfy job requirements.
      • Reasoning Ability: Ability to make judgment decisions based on management direction, specifications, or technical requirements.
      • Computer Skills: Advanced personal computer skills including MS Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access, Visio, and Project) and specialized scheduling applications with emphasis on Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, Windchill ProjectLink, MS Power BI or other similar applications.
