SUMMARY

 

The Senior Training Service Engineer is responsible for leading efforts to grow the engineering training program within the Mitsubishi Power service organization. The Senior Training Service Engineer supports the development and dispatch of internal and external training programs for various technical roles. Based on the business need, this role may be required to provide support within the field of expertise of the candidate.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Expand the content and dispatch of Gas Turbine, Steam Turbine, Generator, and related auxiliaries training material, utilizing internal and external resources as needed
  • Support onboarding of new Mitsubishi Power engineers for a smooth transition to the organization and/or power generation industry
  • Provide hands-on technical training to members inside and outside of the organization, traveling to remote sites when necessary
  • Develop technical growth pathways for team members to follow in their Individual Development Plans (IDP)
  • Unify guidance on job level classifications for the engineering organization to ensure team members are aware of the skills and responsibilities required to achieve them
  • Monitor and maintain appropriate training and skill records to drive career growth and career progression opportunities
  • Develop, monitor and maintain a career progression review program including a progression review board.
  • Monitor and maintain task and work process breakdown (WPB) certification program
  • Maintain alignment with other training efforts within the Mitsubishi Power organization

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EDUCATION    

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Preferably 8 years of work-related work experience in rotating equipment design / service or combined cycle powerplant operation and maintenance. 
  • Ability to lead others and drive tasks to completion. 
  • Commercial awareness. 
  • BS or MS degree in Mechanical Engineering preferable (experience may be considered as an alternative). 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers. 
  • Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel and Outlook). 
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service. 
  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
