Mitsubishi Power Americas, Inc. in Orlando, Florida, is looking for a Transformation Director.

 

SUMMARY

 

The Director of PGS Transformation is a strategic leader responsible for driving Power Generation Services change initiatives that align with the organization’s goals.. As the architect of transformation efforts, the PGS Transformation Director leads the planning, execution, and governance of transformation programs, bridging organizational silos and fostering cross functional collaboration to ensure success. Reporting to the VP of Operational Excellence, this role provides the infrastructure, methodology, and leadership required to deliver sustainable improvements through process re-engineering, systems enhancement, and capability building.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

 

        Leadership and Strategy

 

  • Lead the PGS Transformation and drive strategic initiatives aligned with the Power+ vision.
  • Partner with PGS senior leadership to prioritize and implement transformative strategies that deliver measurable results.
  • Serve as a change catalyst, ensuring all organizational functions align with enterprise goals.

       Transformation Management

  • Develop and own the transformation roadmap, ensuring objectives are met on time and within scope.
  • Utilize proven methodologies like Lean, Six Sigma, and Agile to drive performance improvement.
  • Identify innovative solutions through ideation sessions and process re-engineering.
  • Resolve roadblocks or escalate them effectively to ensure uninterrupted progress.
  • Empower initiative owners, fostering accountability and measurable results.
  • Use Wave tool to ensure that each project being worked on has a clear business case, defined scope, and a tactical milestone plan with owners and deadlines. Facilitate weekly and ad-hoc meetings with initiative owners to review pipeline and solve or escalate barriers to execution. 
  • Verify that each initiative being worked on within PGS has a change management plan.
  • Be the face of transformation activities in PGS comms forums, e.g., All Hands, Ops Meetings, etc.

         Collaboration and Governance

  • Coordinate with Power Generation (PG) Transformation Office Team and other Business Unit Leaders to drive continuous improvement efforts across the enterprise.
  • Bridge organizational silos to foster teamwork and shared accountability for transformation goals. 
  • Establish governance frameworks to monitor progress, mitigate risks, and manage barriers.
  • Promote transparent communication and alignment across all levels of the organization.

         Capability Building and Culture Development

  • Instill a culture of continuous improvement through coaching, training, and capability-building programs.
  • Champion the Human and Organizational Performance (HOP) principles to enhance efficiency and quality.

        Team Leadership

  • Lead, develop, and inspire a high-performing PGS Transformation team.
  • Implement professional growth plans and cultivate a collaborative, innovative work culture.
  • Collaborate with Organizational Excellence team to enhance employee fulfillment and creativity.

 

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Personnel will report to the Orlando Service Center when not traveling to support offsite initiatives.
  • Support ISO 9001 compliance and initiatives.
  • Researches best practices within and outside the organization to establish benchmark data.
  • Support other Operational Excellence initiatives as needed.
  • Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
  • Contribute to building a positive team spirit and ONE TEAM culture.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and management at all levels.
  • Protect confidential information by not communicating, disclosing to, or using for benefit of third parties.
  • Maintain the highest degree of honesty and integrity at all times.
  • Perform other such duties as may be required.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EDUCATION

 

  • Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree (BS) from four-year college or university; or at least ten (10) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Preferable experience in Power Generation Industry and/or transformation management, operational excellence, or related fields.  MBA or advanced degree, Lean/ Six Sigma, Project Management (PMP), Change Management certification, or related qualifications are a plus.
  • Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.  Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Computer Skills: Strong knowledge of database software; certification software; training software; risk management software; project management software; spreadsheet software and word processing software.  Advanced knowledge of Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Visio and Project) is a plus.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT
