Mitsubishi Power Americas, Inc. in Orlando, FL is looking for a Transportation Specialist, this is a hybrid position.


Summary

 

The Transportation Specialist will be responsible for providing logistics support to Gas and Steam Turbine Projects in the United States and other Americas. This position also provides a variety of administrative support for the Transportation and Logistics Team.

 

The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of Transportation experience, with knowledge of U.S. Import and Export Regulations.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

 

  • Generate activity reports for Transportation, Weekly, Monthly, and Annual activities.
  • Employ the necessary systems, and procedures, that will interface with customer service functions and ultimately, the end of-user or consumer.
  • Investigate opportunities for parcel tracking upon release for shipment.
  • Auditing of freight bills against contract rates and quoted services.
  • Respond to inquiries on shipment status, track, and trace cargo.
  • Communicate with foreign and domestic vendors, sales, global sourcing, accounting, etc., to resolve discrepancies or missing information to make the import documentation complete and accurate.
  • Secure proper documentation as required by other government agencies or special programs.
  • Instruct Customs brokers on proper classification and valuation to be declared on entry documents.
  • Coordinate delivery to designated locations upon Customs clearance.
  • Verify documents for accuracy to ensure proper classification, valuation, and other data elements for ACE filings.
  • Assist transportation team with daily administrative functions.
  • Prepare monthly reviewable reports related to Transportation expenses by mode of transport, shipment weight, shipment service, duties, taxes, and Foreign Trade Zone activity.
  • Perform other such duties as required.

Knowledge, Skills, & Education

 

  • Education and/or Experience: Associate degree (A.A) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or one (1) to two (2) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of international quotation and U.S. entry process, understanding INCO terms.
  • Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardization situations.
  • Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have expert knowledge of Microsoft Office.
