Role Overview
The Transportation Specialist III provides critical global logistics support for Gas and Steam Turbine projects across the United States and the Americas.
This role requires extensive logistics expertise and hands-on operational experience. The specialist must be well-versed in all aspects of domestic transportation across various modes of transport, including motor transport, air transport, parcel, etc.
This role will support our Power Generation Service business, requiring high levels of customer service, prioritization, and troubleshooting.
This role is based out of Central Florida (Orlando, Lake Nona) and may require occasional travel to project sites or carrier locations as needed.
Key Responsibilities

Manage the end-to-end execution of domestic transportation for Gas and Steam Turbine projects across the U.S., including Full Truckload (FTL), Less-than-Truckload (LTL), flatbed, step-deck, and specialized equipment moves.

Evaluate shipment requirements, select appropriate mode and carrier, and coordinate routing, scheduling, and loading to ensure cost-effective and timely delivery.

Monitor shipment status, identify critical deliveries, and expedite transportation as needed to support field requirements and project schedules.

Prepare and manage shipment documentation, including Bills of Lading (BOL), load confirmations, and site delivery instructions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with customer and contract terms.

Provide logistics updates and resolution support to internal teams, including field service, project management, and customer support functions.

Proactively manage and resolve in-transit delays, delivery issues, and damage claims, coordinating with carriers and site teams as needed.

Implement Category Management strategy as defined by Global Commodity Manager for logistics services required to support the business, acting as operational liaison with carriers and partners to meet cost, safety, and performance standards.

Review transportation invoices for accuracy and compliance with contractual terms. Support freight audit processes and investigate discrepancies as needed.

Maintain accurate shipment records in ERP and Transportation Management Systems (TMS). Ensure timely entry of tracking updates, proof of delivery, and cost data.

Ensure adherence to DOT regulations, internal safety standards, and company logistics policies throughout the transportation process.

Identify and contribute to process improvements that enhance delivery reliability, reduce logistics costs, and streamline execution across the domestic transportation function.

Requirements
-
Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or Business from an accredited college or university preferred. Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in domestic transportation and logistics required.

Strong understanding of motor freight, LTL/FTL, flatbed, and specialized transport. Experience supporting power generation OEMs, large transportation brokerage, or freight forwarder in the U.S. is a plus.

Transportation Knowledge: Proficiency in routing, carrier coordination, and freight execution within the U.S. transportation network. Familiarity with DOT regulations, site delivery constraints, and safety compliance. Knowledge of ERP and Transportation Management Systems (TMS) preferred.

Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret transportation documents, delivery schedules, and customer instructions. Able to clearly communicate with carriers, internal stakeholders, and project teams. Comfortable presenting updates and resolving issues in meetings with managers, site teams, and external partners.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate and percent and to draw and interpret charts.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Technology Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and experience with ERP systems (such as SAP). Experience with Transportation Management Systems (routing, sequential tendering, tracking, etc.) is required. Strong capabilities in data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is a plus.
