Role Overview

• Operate independently performing advanced welding, blending, stress relief, and metal fabrication processes using TIG and MIG techniques in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Read, interpret, and execute operations per drawings and work instructions.
• Perform advanced welding operations using Gas Tungsten Arc, Metal Inert Gas, oxy-acetylene, and plasma cutting equipment.
• Conduct major Turbine and Combustion repairs (Class C).
• Install accessories on Turbine and Combustion components.
• Perform Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) on equipment.
• Support on-the-job training and certification efforts while consistently meeting production requirements.
• Comply with all safety policies and report unsafe conditions.
• Collaborate with team members and participate in continuous improvement efforts.
• Welding Superalloys
• Performing Indication free welding in argon purge environments
• Welding Cavities on Test Coupons to qualify for welding cavities on Turbine Blade cavities for manufacturing, repair, an modifications.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; or at least three (3) years of related welding experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Pass AWS D17.1 qualification test accepted by MHPS Level 3 Inspector.
• Ability to read, comprehend, and write basic instructions and correspondence.
• Basic mathematical skills including fractions, decimals, ratios, and percentages.
• Ability to apply common sense reasoning to follow written, oral, or diagram instructions.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds as required in a manufacturing environment.
• Must be capable of welding with pedal amperage control varying amperage during weld to prevent cracking.
• Must be able to weld with various weld puddle control measurements and contours.
• Must be able to pass strict weld coupon testing with x-ray and lab testing
• Must be able to blend welds and chamfer components to previse measurements for modifications.
