SUMMARY

Oriden, headquartered in Pittsburgh, PA, is a renewable energy developer focused on developing utility-scale solar PV and energy storage projects. The services we provide include project site origination, feasibility assessment, grid interconnection, design and engineering, community relations, environmental & technical studies, permitting, PPA origination, equipment procurement, project financing, construction management, ownership and asset management of renewable energy projects. The team is funded by Mitsubishi Power Ltd., a Japanese multinational with operations globally and regional headquarters in Lake Mary, FL.

We seek a colleague to join the Development team as a Manager or Sr. Manager, depending on experience.  This person should be curious and qualified in the facets of renewable energy project development. 

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Manager and own the project development for solar and energy storage project through the leadership of an interdisciplinary team of subject matter experts
  • Maintain ownership of project budgets, schedules, and reports
  • Manage a portfolio of projects within time and quality parameters
  • Provide strategic support to Management that will aid decision making through project permitting, development and due-diligence
  • Perform due-diligence reviews of prospective solar and/or storage development asset acquisitions
  • Work with internal and external subject matter experts to ensure model inputs are accurate with the utmost data integrity
  • Create and maintain project updates and progress reports; identify risks, mitigants and possible solutions for discussion with project team members
  • Identify value-added and profitability influencers through development, regulatory and permitting analysis to improve project bankability
  • Ensure project-specific financial assessments capture all corresponding development, permitting and operational cost assumptions to support accurate financial modelling
  • Interact with landowners, local government officials, project neighbors, investor representatives and utility contacts to advance utility scale solar projects
  • Support the negotiation of agreements required to progress project development (land, tax, community, permits, interconnection, revenue, EPC, etc)
  • Manage internal team members and external consultants responsible for critical development tasks to ensure on time delivery and accuracy of required work products
  • Coordinate the preparation and submission of interconnection applications and management of interconnection processes across various utilities/RTOs/ISOs.
  • Distilling relevant insights from state energy policies, utility Integrated Resource Plans and other public industry sources that lead to potential business opportunities.
  • Conducting ad-hoc research and analysis to advance Oriden’s new market and business strategies

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EDUCATION

Qualified applicants will have the creativity and attention to detail necessary to develop utility scale solar projects.  Display a strong drive to deliver results, persistent in overcoming obstacles and eager to take responsibility for making things happen in a complex development landscape.  Successful candidates will also demonstrate evidence of working independently in an unstructured environment.

 

Experience: 4+ years of relevant experience is preferred and may include project management, energy management, energy and environmental policy or law, economic development, technical sales, construction management, or engineering;

 

Education: Undergraduate degree in business, engineering, economics, environmental studies, public policy, or relevant field. Graduate degree a plus, but not required.
