SCOPE:
The Quality Systems & Compliance Manager will lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of QA/QC processes, governance frameworks, and quality management systems across Data Center & Energy Management related products under Mitsubishi Heavy Industries product lines in North America. This role is responsible for establishing standardized quality processes, ensuring governance and compliance, and driving alignment between North American operations and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. QA/QC processes and procedures. The Manager will act as a central coordination point across engineering, manufacturing, supplier quality, and field teams to ensure consistency, traceability, and audit readiness across all QA/QC activities. This position collaborates with global stakeholders across Japan and the U.S. to align priorities, enable effective execution, and support MHIA’s long-term business objectives.
The ideal candidate will have at least eight (8) years of relevant experience in quality, process management, or manufacturing or quality systems within industrial, energy, or data center-related industries.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Process development & standardization
- Develop, implement, and maintain QA/QC processes, procedures, and standards across DCEM America.
- Standardize quality workflows across design, procurement, manufacturing, installation, and commissioning phases.
- Define and maintain process documentation, including SOPs, work instructions, templates, and guidelines.
- Ensure processes are scalable to support business growth and modular business models.
Governance & compliance
- Establish and manage QA/QC governance frameworks, including decision-making processes, approval gates, and escalation pathways.
- Ensure full compliance with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. QA/QC processes, procedures, and global quality standards.
- Align internal QA/QC processes with North American regulatory and certification requirements (UL, ETL, NRTL, etc.).
- Support internal and external audits, ensuring audit readiness and closure of findings.
Quality management systems (QMS)
- Develop and manage Quality Management Systems (QMS) aligned with corporate standards (e.g., ISO 9001 principles).
- Implement and maintain document control, change management, and record-keeping systems.
- Drive digitalization of quality processes, including tracking tools, dashboards, and reporting systems.
Performance monitoring & reporting
- Define, track, and report key quality metrics (e.g., defect rates, NCR trends, CAPA closure, audit findings).
- Develop dashboards and reporting mechanisms to provide visibility to leadership.
- Support executive-level reporting on quality performance, risks, and improvement actions.
Cross-functional coordination
- Work closely with QA engineers (Mechanical/Electrical), supplier quality teams, program management, and engineering to ensure process adherence.
- Serve as a liaison between North America teams and Japan HQ to ensure alignment with global QA/QC standards.
- Facilitate cross-functional reviews to ensure consistency in QA/QC execution.
Continuous improvement
- Identify process gaps, inefficiencies, and risks, and lead improvement initiatives.
- Drive continuous improvement using Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.
- Capture lessons learned and integrate them into standard processes and governance frameworks.
Training & capability development
- Develop and deliver QA/QC process training programs across teams.
- Ensure consistent understanding and application of QA/QC standards, procedures, and governance.
- Support onboarding and capability development within QA/QC and related teams.
Risk management & control
- Identify and assess quality and process risks across projects and supply chains.
- Establish control mechanisms to mitigate risks and ensure consistent execution.
- Support escalation and resolution of critical quality and compliance issues.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education Requirement: B.A. or B.S. in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Quality Management, or related field
- Experience: Minimum of eight (8) years of relevant experience in quality, process management, or manufacturing or quality systems within industrial, energy, or data center-related industries
- Strong understanding of QA/QC processes, governance, and quality management systems (QMS)
- Experience in developing and implementing standardized processes across organizations
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 or equivalent quality frameworks
- Strong analytical, organizational, and documentation skills
- Experience in cross-functional coordination and stakeholder management
- Proficiency with MS Office and process/quality tools (e.g., workflow systems, dashboards, document control systems)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
o Experience in modular data center, power generation, or industrial equipment sectors
o Experience with North American regulatory and certification frameworks (UL, ETL, NRTL)
o Knowledge of quality tools and methods (CAPA, NCR, FMEA, 8D, etc.)
o Experience supporting audits and compliance programs
o Familiarity with digital quality systems and data analytics tools
o Experience working in global organizations, particularly Japan–U.S. collaboration
o Certification (e.g., Six Sigma Green/Black Belt, ASQ CQE)
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Travel: 25% (limited travel to sites, suppliers, and HQ coordination as needed)
- Standard Monday through Friday work week; additional hours as required
- Primarily office-based with occasional site and manufacturing visits
