Mitsubishi Heavy Industries America, Inc. (MHIA) is looking for a Supply Chain Manager – Data Center Equipment to join our team. This is a hybrid role based out of our Plano, Texas, location.

SCOPE:
The Supply Chain Manager serves as the end‑to‑end owner of delivery execution for the data center equipment business, ensuring that procured equipment and materials are delivered to the right place, at the right time, in the right condition. This role manages demand and supply planning, supplier delivery tracking and expediting, import/customs execution, logistics and freight forwarding, warehousing and inventory (including spares), and project site delivery coordination. The position is critical for businesses with large, long‑lead, and import‑intensive equipment where schedule, logistics, and site installation alignment directly determine customer success and revenue realization. This position collaborates with global stakeholders across Japan and the U.S. to align priorities, enable effective execution, and support MHIA’s long-term business objectives.
The ideal candidate will have at least eight (8) years of experience in supply chain, logistics, or operations, including at least three (3) years in a lead role managing delivery schedules, expediting, and logistics execution for industrial or packaged equipment.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Demand & Supply Planning
- Own rolling demand planning based on forecast, opportunity pipeline, and project schedules; translate demand into supply requirements and time‑phased delivery plans.
- Coordinate supply planning with suppliers and internal stakeholders to secure production slots, capacity, and lead‑time commitments aligned to project milestones.
Delivery Tracking, Expediting & Schedule Control
- Lead supplier delivery tracking and expediting to ensure on‑time readiness; manage escalation paths for delays, shortages, and shipment risks.
- Maintain integrated delivery schedules aligned to project site needs.
Logistics, Import/Customs & Trade Execution
- Own logistics execution for domestic and international shipments, including freight forwarder management, mode selection (ocean/air/truck), and last‑mile delivery coordination.
- Manage the import process (customs clearance, duties/tariffs, documentation, insurance) and ensure Incoterms are applied correctly in coordination with Procurement and suppliers.
- Plan and manage oversized/heavy‑haul shipments, including route studies, permits, and coordination with receiving sites.
Warehousing, Inventory & Spares
- Define and operate warehousing and inventory strategies for critical components and spare parts, including buffer stock policies and replenishment triggers.
- Coordinate inbound receiving, temporary storage, kitting/staging, and delivery release to project sites.
Project Delivery Coordination
- Serve as the primary supply chain interface to project management and field teams to synchronize delivery
- dates, site access constraints, lift plans, and receiving/inspection readiness.
- Coordinate corrective actions for in‑transit damage, shortages, or packaging issues and lead resolution with logistics providers and suppliers.
Risk Management & Continuous Improvement
- Lead supply chain risk management for delays, port congestion, disruptions, and damage; establish contingency plans and alternate routes as needed.
- Develop KPI dashboards (OTD, lead time, expediting aging, logistics cost, inventory turns) and drive continuous improvement initiatives with internal and external partners.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience: Minimum of eight (8) years of experience in supply chain, logistics, or operations, including at least three (3) years in a lead role managing delivery schedules, expediting, and logistics execution for industrial or packaged equipment.
- Hands‑on experience with international shipping, import/customs processes, duties/tariffs, freight forwarders, and execution of Incoterms.
- Proven experience coordinating deliveries to project sites and aligning with installation/rigging schedules, receiving inspections, and commissioning timelines.
- Strong ability to manage complex, multi‑party schedules; track actions/risks/issues; and drive timely escalation and resolution.
- Ability to effectively collaborate and communicate with Japanese stakeholders and team members in a global, cross‑cultural working environment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Professional certification, such as APICS CSCP/CPIM, CLTD, or equivalent.
- Experience supporting Hyperscalers or large-scale U.S. data center projects with strict delivery windows and site constraints.
- Experience with oversized/heavy-haul logistics planning, permitting, and route surveys for large modules and equipment.
- Experience establishing inventory/spares strategies for mission‑critical equipment and coordinating service parts readiness.
- Familiarity with supplier manufacturing processes, FAT/SAT scheduling, and shipping release controls.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Travel: 20-40%
- Standard Monday through Friday work week. Weekend/late-night work where applicable.
- Lifting/physical requirements: Regularly required to sit for long periods, stand, walk, talk, and/or hear. Frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
