Role Overview
Mitsubishi Power is hiring an Automation Engineering Program Manager in the Savannah Machinery Works location. The Automation Engineering Program Manager is to lead the development and execution of advanced automation strategies. This position will play a critical role in shaping the future of advanced manufacturing by aligning automation initiatives with long-term business objectives, driving technological innovation and enhancing operational excellence through intelligent systems and data-driven processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Demonstrates our core competencies: Action oriented, change champion, customer-focused, developing self & others, and ownership
- Develop and execute the automation strategy and roadmap to support business objectives and manufacturing transformation.
- Identify, evaluate, and implement advanced technologies such as AI, machine learning, robotics, and vision systems to improve manufacturing performance.
- Build business cases for automation initiatives, including ROI, risk assessments, and resource planning.
- Partner with operations, quality, supply chain, engineering, IT, and external vendors to integrate and deploy automation solutions.
- Lead cross-functional automation projects, ensuring delivery on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Support collaboration with domestic and global partner facilities.
- Monitor and improve key performance indicators, including throughput, quality, downtime, and labor efficiency.
- Lead, mentor, and develop automation team members while promoting a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and accountability.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable safety, regulatory, and environmental requirements.
- Support root cause investigations and provide technical assessments to resolve system issues.
- Travel domestically and internationally as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field and 7+ years of manufacturing experience, preferably in automation and advanced manufacturing technologies.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documentation, analyze data, troubleshoot complex issues, and develop practical solutions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical information effectively to employees, customers, and leadership.
- Proficiency with project management, database, spreadsheet, word processing, and technical software applications.
