Role Overview

Mitsubishi Power is hiring a Component Engineer for the Savannah Machinery Works (SMW) location.  The Component Engineer position requires knowledge of engineering principles and will develop specific application knowledge and skills through training and work assignments. The Component Engineer position provides technical support to the manufacturing, sourcing, and field service organizations. The component engineering department assures the safe delivery of quality components based on customer requirements.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates our core competencies: Action oriented, change champion, customer-focused, developing self & others, and ownership
  • Serve as the technical authority for assigned components, managing all related issues and maintaining a comprehensive knowledge base.
  • Oversee component quality, nonconformance dispositions, and approval of local-repair materials.
  • Lead and manage component-specific repair projects, including scope development, process mapping, and documentation.
  • Coordinate with vendors, manufacturing shops, and internal departments to ensure timely execution and compliance with specifications.
  • Support process optimization, template revisions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Contribute to ISO 9001 compliance and ensure products meet internal and customer standards.
  • Perform additional duties as needed to support engineering and operational goals.

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical or engineering field.
  • Strong understanding of gas turbine components and ability to apply relevant technical skills.
  • Proficient in reading and writing technical documents, including customer reports and industry publications.
  • Capable of presenting information clearly in small group settings.
  • Solid math skills for job-related calculations.
  • Able to make sound decisions based on technical specifications and requirements.
  • Advanced computer skills, including email, word processing, spreadsheets, and working with graphics and drawings.
