Role Overview

Mitsubishi Power is hiring a Configuration Engineer II in the Savannah Machinery Works location in Pooler, GA.  The Configuration Engineer position requires knowledge of engineering principles and will develop specific application knowledge and skills through training and work assignments. The Configuration Engineer position provides technical support to the manufacturing, sourcing, and field service organizations. The configuration engineering team assures BOM configuration accuracy and change management to all stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Demonstrates our core competencies: Action oriented, change champion, customer-focused, developing self & others, and ownership
• Configuration Technical Lead – Maintain knowledge base for applicable configuration items and lead for resolving all configuration specific technical issues.
• Project manage configuration related projects and processes ensuring completion within schedule.
• Develop process mapping for projects and initiatives.
• Own and manage the project BOM exports and change management for GT components.
• Track and report change management metrics to other departments and leadership.
• Communicate effectively with other departments and business units technical information in an easy-to-understand way.
• Provide technical information to vendors and manufacturing shops.
• Coordinate the configuration of a project with other departments to assure all development, FAI, and documentation is complete.
• Utilize Manufacturing and Component Engineering group as resources.
• Continuously work on process optimization and removing non-value added work.
• Support ISO 9001 audits and compliance efforts.
• Ensure product meets or exceeds internal and customer requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical or engineering discipline.
• Must have the ability to demonstrate the successful usage of the appropriate level of technical skills and knowledge applied to a particular family of gas turbine components.
• Ability to read, write and interpret technical reports and documents such as industry reports, technical journals and customer reports.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
• Ability to perform necessary calculations to satisfy job requirements.
• Ability to make judgment decisions based on material specifications or technical requirements.
• Advanced personal computer skills including electronic mail, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, drawings, etc.
