About the Role:

The MRO Global Sourcing Specialist is responsible for the procurement of maintenance, repair, and operations supplies. This role involves managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and ensuring that all MRO materials are procured efficiently and cost-effectively. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of procurement processes and a proven track record in supply chain management.  This position requires judgment, ingenuity, critical thinking, with ever-changing priorities while adhering to established policies and procedures. The MRO Global Souring Specialist coordinates on-time delivery of goods and services when needed and manages all aspects of the supplier relations. Understands the sense of urgency, and proven ability to manage projects, gather and analyze data, and build internal and external relationships, while working in a team environment.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Identify and source MRO materials and services needed for facility operations.
  • Negotiate prices, terms, and contract with supplier to ensure cost-effective procurement.
  • Manage purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers.
  • Monitor supplier performance and resolve any issues related to quality or delivery.
  • Conduct supplier audits and assessments to ensure compliance with company standards.
  • Collaborate with maintenance and operations teams to ensure adequate inventory levels.
  • Analyze usage patterns and forecast future demand to optimize inventory.
  • Implement inventory control procedures to minimize waste and obsolescence.
  • Conduct cost analysis to identify areas for potential savings.
  • Assist in budget preparation and monitor spending against budgeted amounts.
  • Report on purchasing activities, costs, and supplier performance to management.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements in procurement and supply chain management.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams to implement best practices and improve efficiency.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and innovations in MRO procurement.
  • Negotiates terms and conditions with suppliers and coordinates with legal when required.
  • Travel up to 10%.
  • Perform other such duties as may be required.

Knowledge, Skills and Education:     

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree from accredited college or university; and as a minimum three (3) years of procurement experience in the power generation industry; or, eight(8) years of procurement experience; or, any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities has been achieved. MBA/ ISM/ APCIS Members/ CSCM or CPIM, preferred.
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems such as SAP.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, engineering drawings, engineering specifications for material, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. 
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. 
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
