Role Overview

Mitusbishi Powe is hiring a Maintenance Planner in the Savannah location. The Maintenance Planner is responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating maintenance activities to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operation of manufacturing equipment and facility assets. This role serves as the central coordinator between maintenance, operations, engineering, storeroom, and contractors to maximize workforce productivity, minimize equipment downtime, and improve maintenance execution effectiveness.

 

The Maintenance Planner develops detailed work plans, manages maintenance backlogs, coordinates parts and resources, and supports continuous improvement initiatives to improve asset reliability and maintenance performance.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, prioritize, and schedule preventive, predictive, corrective, and shutdown maintenance activities to support safety, reliability, and production goals.
  • Develop detailed job plans including labor estimates, material requirements, resource needs, task durations, and work procedures.
  • Manage maintenance work orders and backlog, ensuring all work is properly planned, documented, and closed in the CMMS.
  • Coordinate with operations, maintenance, contractors, procurement, and storeroom personnel to ensure parts, materials, permits, tools, and resources are available before scheduled work.
  • Lead planning and coordination for facility shutdowns, equipment outages, and major maintenance events, including contractor and resource management.
  • Maintain CMMS asset data, preventive maintenance plans, job procedures, and reporting accuracy.
  • Track maintenance performance metrics and KPIs, identify improvement opportunities, and support reliability, Lean, TPM, and continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing downtime and improving maintenance efficiency.
  • Travel and perform additional duties as required.

 

Requirements

  • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, Maintenance Management, Business, or a related technical field preferred.
  • 3–5 years of maintenance planning, maintenance supervision, maintenance engineering, skilled trades, or manufacturing operations experience.
  • Experience with CMMS/EAM systems such as SAP, Maximo, Oracle, or similar platforms.
  • Experience planning maintenance activities in an industrial or manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Strong understanding of maintenance practices and equipment maintenance requirements.
  • Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and facility systems.
  • Ability to read equipment drawings, manuals, schematics, and technical documentation.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and maintenance management software.
  • Strong organizational and scheduling skills.
