Role Overview

Mitsubishi Power is hiring a Warehousing Manager in the Savannah Machinery Works location in Pooler, Georgia.  The Warehousing Manager is responsible for leading all warehousing operations at the facility, ensuring the safe, efficient, and accurate receipt, storage, movement, and shipment of materials supporting manufacturing operations. This position is accountable for inventory accuracy, warehouse productivity, material flow, team performance, and continuous operational improvement.

 

The role provides leadership for all warehouse personnel and is responsible for establishing a culture of ownership, accountability, safety, and operational excellence. The Warehousing Manager will leverage SAP S/4HANA and Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) to optimize warehouse operations, improve inventory control, standardize processes, and support business growth through best-in-class warehousing practices.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all warehouse operations including receiving, put-away, storage, picking, staging, shipping, material handling, and inventory control activities.
  • Develop and maintain a safe, organized, and efficient warehouse operation that supports manufacturing schedules and customer commitments.
  • Establish a culture of ownership, accountability, and operational discipline while coaching and developing warehouse supervisors and team members.
  • Ensure inventory accuracy through disciplined transaction management, cycle count execution, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
  • Lead and continuously improve the site's cycle count program and support annual physical inventory activities.
  • Utilize SAP S/4HANA and Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) to ensure accurate warehouse execution, inventory visibility, and material traceability.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on warehouse productivity, inventory accuracy, space utilization, material flow, and operating costs.
  • Develop and monitor warehouse KPIs including inventory accuracy, picking accuracy, dock-to-stock time, shipping performance, productivity, and safety metrics.
  • Establish standardized work instructions, warehouse operating procedures, and best practices.
  • Partner with Manufacturing, Planning, Procurement, Logistics, Quality, Engineering, and Finance.
  • Lead root cause investigations related to inventory discrepancies and warehouse process failures.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage technology, automation, and digital tools.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, inventory controls, and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage staffing, labor planning, scheduling, performance management, and employee development.
  • Develop and manage departmental operating budgets while identifying cost reduction opportunities.
  • Support warehouse layout optimization, storage strategies, material flow improvements, and capacity planning.
  • Champion Lean principles, 5S, visual management, and continuous improvement.
  • Lead cross-functional projects supporting warehouse transformation and operational excellence.

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Engineering, Business, or related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • 8+ years of warehouse or distribution operations experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience managing warehouse teams.
  • Strong knowledge of SAP S/4HANA and Extended Warehouse Management (EWM).
  • Experience managing cycle count programs and inventory accuracy initiatives.
  • Knowledge of Lean, 5S, warehouse best practices, and continuous improvement.
  • Strong analytical, communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
