Role Overview

Mitsubishi Power is hiring a Manufacturing Engineer for the Savannah Machinery Works (SMW) location.  The Manufacturing Engineer provides technical support manufacturing and repair operations. This role focuses on process optimization, continuous improvement, and ensuring compliance with quality standards. Responsibilities include creating work instructions, reviewing technical reports, supporting ISO audits, and validating that products meet customer requirements.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates our core competencies: Action oriented, change champion, customer-focused, developing self & others, and ownership
  • Maintain knowledge base for Gas Turbine Sub-Assemblies, measurements, drawings, and standards.
  • Support Manufacturing Engineering team with Nonconformance Dispositions.
  • Implement and Review templates, process sheets, and specifications.
  • Implement Continuous Improvement projects.
  • Review and approval of Technical Reports.
  • Create and Maintain Work Instructions.
  • Ensure Proper Documentation in Assembly Area.
  • Support process optimization, automation integration, and removing non-value-added work.
  • Support ISO 9001 audits and compliance efforts.
  • Validate product meets or exceeds internal and customer requirements.
  • Drawing Interpretation and Creation.
  • Lift Plan Interpretation and Creation.
  • Lift Fixture Design, and Lifting Equipment Inspection Requirements definition.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement within the team.

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited university required. Three years of experience in a manufacturing environment or a Master’s degree preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as industry reports and technical journals.
  • Ability to write technical reports and correspondence including customer reports.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to make judgment decisions based on material specifications or technical requirements.
  • Advanced personal computer skills including electronic mail, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, drawings, programming language, etc.
