Role Overview
Mitsubishi Power is hiring a Manufacturing Engineer II based out of the Savannah Machinery Works (SMW) location. The Manufacturing Engineer II requires advanced knowledge of engineering principles and demonstrated experience in the application of these principles. This includes providing technical support to the manufacturing and repair organizations and assuming technical responsibility for the entire assigned family or families of components to safely deliver quality components based on customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Demonstrates our core competencies: Action oriented, change champion, customer-focused, developing self & others, and ownership.
- Maintain knowledge base for Gas Turbine Sub-Assemblies, measurements, drawings, and standards, and service strategies.
- Support Manufacturing Engineering team with Nonconformance Dispositions.
- Implement and Review templates, process sheets, and specifications.
- Implement Continuous Improvement projects.
- Review and approval of Technical Reports.
- Create and Maintain Work Instructions.
- Ensure Proper Documentation in Assembly Area.
- Support process optimization, automation integration, and removing non-value-added work.
- Support ISO 9001 audits and compliance efforts.
- Validate product meets or exceeds internal and customer requirements.
- Drawing Interpretation and Creation.
- Lift Plan Interpretation and Creation.
- Lift Fixture Design, and Lifting Equipment Inspection Requirements definition.
- Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement within the team.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field, and 5+ years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read and interpret technical, financial, and legal documents; respond effectively to customers, regulators, and business partners; and present information clearly to senior leadership and boards.
- Ability to apply advanced mathematical and statistical concepts to analyze complex problems and data.
- Strong problem‑solving skills, including the ability to analyze data, evaluate complex information, and draw sound conclusions.
- Proficiency with database, project management, spreadsheet, word processing, email, and presentation/diagramming software.
- Recurring overnight travel (up to 10%) by land and/or air.
