Role Overview 

The Manufacturing Production Trainer serves as the shop-floor Subject Matter Expert (SME) responsible for delivering structured on-the-job training (OJT) for defined tasks and roles within an assigned production area. This position supports onboarding, cross-training, and standard work reinforcement using approved job aids, checklists, and qualification sign-offs. The role partners with Training Specialists and area leadership to identify skill gaps, ensure training quality, and maintain accurate qualification documentation. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Deliver hands-on OJT using approved work instruction (WI) methods and area training checklists.  

  • Train employees on production tasks using approved work instructions and training checklists. 

  • Coach and develop employees to ensure safe, quality-focused job performance.  

  • Evaluate employee proficiency and complete qualification sign-offs.  

  • Support continuous improvement of training materials and processes.  

  • Coordinate training schedules with supervisors while meeting production needs.  

  • Reinforce safety, quality, and housekeeping standards.  

  • Complete and maintain Train-the-Trainer (TTT) qualifications.  

  • Communicate training progress, qualifications, and skill gaps in leadership.  

  • Support company goals through teamwork, professionalism, confidentiality, and integrity. 

Requirements 

  • High School diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or associate degree preferred.  

  • 1–3 years of experience in training, onboarding, manufacturing, industrial operations, or related environments preferred.  

  • Knowledge of manufacturing safety, quality standards, and training documentation.  

  • Strong coaching, communication, and interpersonal skills.  

  • Ability to follow established training processes and procedures with attention to detail.  

  • Ability to communicate technical information clearly to diverse employee groups.  

  • English proficiency required; bilingual skills are a plus.  

  • Basic computer skills required; SAP experience preferred.  

  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment, including standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally.  

  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).

 Physical Demands & Work Environment 

  • Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, talk, and use hands/arms.  

  • Must frequently lift/move up to 25 lbs. and occasionally up to 50 lbs.  

  • Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts and loud noise; hearing protection may be required.
