Summary
MCO-I New Unit Business (NUB) is looking for an experienced Project Manager - Commissioning and Warranty based out of Houston, TX to lead assigned MCO-I project teams involving the supply of Mitsubishi centrifugal compressors, steam turbines and auxiliary systems. The Commissioning and Warranty Project Manager is the counter-part to the Director – NUB Execution and Project Management and is responsible in leading and supporting the assigned MCO-I Project Teams for the timely/cost-effective execution of Commissioning projects and closure of NUB Warranty claims during the NUB warranty period.
Roles and Responsibilities

- Ensure compliance with departments standard operating procedures.
- Act as primary customer interface/contact for MCO-I Commissioning and Warranty scope of work and as required.
- Assume ownership of overall project performance for MCO-I scope of work from project shipment until completion of NUB Warranty period with the support of the original equipment order team (MCO-I NUB PM/MCO PM).
- Define commissioning scope with support from the NUB Project Team prior to shipment and finalize site activities/planning with the Field Service team and sub-vendors assigned.
- Develop tools, templates and processes required to manage Commissioning and Warranty scope as needed (i.e. Warranty Certificate, Field Service Report Requirements, Commissioning Plan, Open Actions List, Certificate of Equipment Acceptance, etc.).
- Support FS PM in the planning for projects where the New Equipment is part of a Turnaround that FS PM will lead and execute, including support where warranty claims may surface during Turnaround.
- Coordinate and lead project team involvement and participation at customer's meetings, commissioning kick- off meetings, issue resolutions meetings, Root Cause Analysis investigations, lessons-learned meetings, and customer progress meetings.
- Manage and facilitate prompt communications with the customer and/or vendors to resolve technical and commercial issues involving NUB MCO-I/MCO Japan project teams with the support of assigned service group/third party vendors as required.
- Provide status updates to MCO-I/MCO NUB PM’s during commissioning period, which are to include Open Actions List capturing all issues that are to be closed prior to completion of Commissioning phase.
- Provide status updates to MCO-I/MCO NUB PM’s and Quality team summarizing all warranty claims that are open for NUB Projects that are still under warranty on a regular basis.
- Foster an environment of teamwork, compliance and continual improvement among customers, internal and external vendors, and internal project team members through face-to-face meetings, teleconferences, and routine communication.
- Negotiate commercial contract modifications when required with support from NUB Commercial team and NUB Sales during the NUB Warranty period.
- Lead efforts to capture cost recovery efforts from third party vendors for warranty claims they are responsible for.
- Establish a report (i.e. Warranty Dashboard, etc.), which monitors all projects that are still under warranty and manage updating all warranty periods based on on-going activities in the field (i.e. Commissioning Completion,
COD, End of Warranty Period, etc.).
- Work closely with internal/external stakeholders in the planning and execution of all Field Work required for Commissioning and/or Warranty scope of work.
- Work with Controllership/Finance/Quality team to ensure meeting Warranty exposure management targets.
- Manage and communicate project revenues, cost, warranty costs, cash collection and margin forecasts as required when deemed required.
- Lead consolidating all Commissioning Reports and required customer documentation submittals towards securing required customer approvals to accept equipment during Commissioning and/or Warranty Claims execution.
- Develop and maintain master project commissioning schedules in conjunction with site team, Sub-vendors and Customer.
- Lead discussions and tracking related to regional fleet issues including tracking status until issues are closed.
- Work closely with the NUB Projects Coordinator/Expeditor to prioritize Commissioning/Warranty issues and update schedules as required.

Requirements
- 5-10 years of experience leading Commissioning and/or field projects involving turbomachinery and auxiliaries in the Energy/O&G industry as a Field Service Engineer or as a Site Manager.
- Experience in managing a multi-disciplined project team: engineering, quality control, procurement, manufacturing, cost estimating, delivery/billing, and configuration management.
- Mechanical or Electrical Engineering degree desired; relevant years of experience will also be considered
- Must have experience and exposure to Project Management tools & analysis such as schedules, commercial issue management, field reports and budget management tools.
- Certification in Project Management Institute (PMI) or equal Registration in APMG is preferred but not required. Candidate to consider attaining PMP certification within 12-18 months of employment.
- Must have proficient experience & exposure to national and international Engineering codes and standards.
- Must have experience with Continuous Improvement processes. Participation in Lessons Learned, Kaizen Events, Six Sigma Studies, LEAN Manufacturing and DMAIC Methods is preferred (Six Sigma Green Belt and/or Black Belt a plus).
- Must have relevant experience with Petrochemical and Oil & Gas clients, products and industry standards.
- Effective change management, problem solving, and communication skills (both oral and written).
- General knowledge of manufacturing processes, techniques, practices.
- Proficient in business and project management software (MS Office, MS Project Professional, MS SharePoint).
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally approximately 10 to 15% of time; international customers and MCO Japan team will require off-normal hour interface at times.
