Project Manager

As a Project Manager in the ShapeTech team you will take the lead for all activities relating to product and small project client orders. You will act as the client’s primary point of contact on all subjects both technically and commercially.

From the point of order handover, the Project Manager is responsible for successful execution with the target of meeting project budgets and timelines, whilst balancing the priorities of multiple projects across the business.

This role will report to the Head of Projects & Engineering for ShapeTech and will have regular contact with colleagues from all functional areas of the business. 



•    To lead multiple projects across the business through coordination of the project team, selected and led by you, ensuring that projects are delivered on-time and on-budget. 
•    This will include motivating the team, setting goals and objectives, defining roles and producing schedules and timelines for tasks - in accordance with the needs of your client.  You will also be required to monitor progress by creating a visual project plan and monthly reports for review by Leadership Team.
•    Professionally lead communications with clients and suppliers in person, via teams and in writing. Report regularly to the client and implement any necessary changes throughout the process.
•    Identify and manage risks to ensure all project activities are delivered on time and follow our defined Primetals procedures.
•    Close the project - including evaluating successes and challenges to enhance learning for your next project and review for business continuous improvement opportunities


•    Strong leadership capabilities – the ability to drive and coach high performing teams and communicate effectively at all levels of the organisation
•    Understanding of Project Management, Planning, Procurement, Sales and R&D disciplines with strong market awareness – ability to keep pace with current developments including our competitors
•    Deadline / target orientated, with experience of project engineering and the project lifecycle from sales through to installation/commissioning. Broad based awareness of all engineering disciplines. 
•    Ability to solve problems quickly and positively. Take an active part in the decision making of the engineering team. 
•    Working knowledge of Environment, Health and Safety legislation and requirements and IT literate with all department and business system tools, including AutoCad 
•    Educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant discipline. Chartered Engineer status and APM PMQ or equivalent qualification (desirable).

Due to communicating with colleagues across the world, the ideal candidate will have worked in a multi-cultural and multi-national environment and remain flexible to attend Microsoft Teams meetings on occasion outside of normal office hours.
Local and international travel, sometimes at short notice.
