We’re hiring a Composite Technician to help drive our continued success!
Purpose of the role:
MHIRJ’s network of service centers, support offices and parts depots are positioned in important aviation hubs in the U.S. The Composite Technician assists in performing minor structural repairs on composite components detached or attached to aircraft including, but not limited to flight controls, doors, wing tips, engine inlet and cowlings, stabilizers, radomes, aft stingers, and horizontal to vertical stabilizer close-out fairings at on-site or off-site locations.
Here are the daily responsibilities of a Composite Technician:
- Inspect/repair parts as required.
- Document work performed per appropriate manuals including, but not limited to, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Structure Repair Manual (SRM), Engineering Drawings (EO’s) and Illustrated Parts Catalog (IPC)
- Perform composite-related repair tasks in accordance with approved/accepted data consisting of, but not limited to the restoration of aramid, fiberglass, and carbon and aluminum mesh fabrics.
- Complete assigned tasks within allocated man-hours on schedule.
- Perform vacuum bagging.
- Prepare all requirements for repairs according to approved/accepted data.
- Operate a broad variety of hand/power tools in a safe and efficient manner.
- Comply with all environmental health and safety policies and procedures included but not limited to Safety Manual Section 1225
Here is what is required to succeed:
- At least 2 years of composite repair / modification experience.
- Formal vocational training or equivalent.
- Customer service / aviation work experience.
- Basic PC skills.
- Basic knowledge of pulling maintenance manuals / IPCs from computers.
- Basic knowledge of regulations dealing with the transportation of hazardous materials.
- Demonstrated the ability to interpret and work with mechanical engineering drawings.
- Ability to effectively communicate aircraft maintenance actions both verbally and in writing.
Preferred Qualifications:
- FAA-issued Airframe or Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) license

- Position requires full-time presence at our Tucson, Arizona facility with on-site collaboration essential to role success
- 12-hour shifts on a 3/4/4/3 schedule, which includes days, nights, and weekends.
