We’re hiring a Crew Chief - Tool Room to help drive our continued success! 

 

Purpose of the role

 

MHIRJ’s network of service centers, support offices and parts depots are positioned in important aviation hubs in the U.S. The Crew Chief - Tool Room is responsible for inventory control and serviceability of tools and equipment supporting maintenance activities; ensuring compliance with safety standards, technical requirements, and organizational procedures while maintaining accurate inventory and calibration records. This position will train and support personnel, coordinate with maintenance and logistics teams, and maintain a safe, organized, and efficient toolroom environment.

 

Here are the daily responsibilities of a Crew Chief - Tool Room:

 

  • Manage and maintain full accountability of all assigned tools and equipment, including special, calibrated, and controlled items.
  • Enforce RSM/QCM and applicable GOP procedures to ensure we stay in compliance with the repair station and customer requirements.
  • Supervise, train, and evaluate toolroom personnel to ensure proper tool issuance, return, and storage.
  • Conduct scheduled and unscheduled inventories, inspections, and audits of tools and equipment.
  • Track, schedule, and coordinate calibration and repair of tools and test equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable technical manuals, maintenance instructions, safety standards, and regulations.
  • Issue and recover tools in support of flight line, hangar, and back-shop maintenance activities.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, logs, and electronic tool tracking systems.
  • Coordinate with maintenance leadership, quality assurance, and supply/logistics personnel.
  • Identify tool deficiencies and initiate corrective actions or replacement requests.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe toolroom and storage environment.
  • Comply with environmental health / safety policies / procedures. Participate in 5-S activities. 
  • Perform all work in a safe and timely manner.
  • Provide verbal or written turnovers for oncoming shifts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to include assisting the stockroom to help cover PTO or increase in demand due to aircraft schedules.

 

Here is what is required to succeed:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.  
  • 0–2 years of experience in one or more of the following areas:
      • Warehouse operations
      • Shipping and receiving
      • Tool crib management
  • Valid driver’s license required.  
  • Demonstrated customer service experience.
  • Strong ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.  
  • Proven ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • Our Service Centers are world-class, and our technicians work in climate-controlled hangars that are clean, comfortable, and promote safety.
  • Position requires full-time presence at our Tucson, Arizona or Bridgeport, WV facility with on-site collaboration essential to role success
